Its ominous that the programme that precedes our match on pick is Hawaii( 5- 0,) hope that's not prophetic

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
Thomas is a central defender - age 19 and done well in u23s
Thompson is just 17, signed from Everton during last window. Plays up front.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
I’m not being funny but Dyche is actually taking the you know what with this tbh. You can make a statement with 3 extra young outfield players but 3 keepers is just wrong

It’s the sort of thing Stan did when he was trying to make a point to the board.

Does the selection of two goalkeepers on the bench indicate that Pope is about to be sold ?

I’m sure Kevo Long will get on. As in what position, pretty much any I would have thought.claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:19 pmBarring an injury we won’t be making a substitution tonight, which seems like a bad idea given none of our players have played in months

Not really, the season ticket prices are frozen again, that's the main thing.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
Huge responsibility on the starting 11 - which looks decent by the way and is the nucleus of a team unbeaten in 7 but there's a huge reliance on no injuries in the context of this game - surprised that there are not a couple of other young players on the bench - assume there's a good reason for that

I think Sean is sending a message to the Board. Either that or he's telling City what he thinks of the five sub rule.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
absolutely and fully understandable from Dyche, if it was the last couple of games and we had nothing to play for it wouldn't be an issue, but if that is going to be the depth of our squad for the remainder of the season then like you have suggested, Dyche could well be off (and I wouldn't blame him)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:22 pmIt’s the sort of thing Stan did when he was trying to make a point to the board.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
Let's not compare Dyche with him. Stan refused to move his car when a fire engine needed to get into the carpark - he wouldn't move. He was a clown and I'm not suggesting he was funny.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:22 pmIt’s the sort of thing Stan did when he was trying to make a point to the board.
Tonight could be explained by numbers and lack of options.

On a positive note average age of the squad has just about halved since our last game

More so as we play again Thursday. I know from my running days after lay offs the first time back you go on adrenaline. Think that was OK, next time out you are pants.claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 7:19 pmBarring an injury we won’t be making a substitution tonight, which seems like a bad idea given none of our players have played in months

Bleeding well hope so for all the use he is, he and JBG are just here on paper, and abut as much use as a chocolate teapot.
At least if we do sell him we'll got a fee for him, maybe that's why we got him to extend, it's certainly not to see him contribute to our games that's for sure.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
Oh this isn't good. I fear for us next season I really do. We are famous for not buying anyone. Next season is going to be a struggle. These last remaining 9 games are going to be a struggle. Not being able to fill the bench is embarrassing. Only 3 first team footballers on the bench and only 2 with premier league experience is shocking. I can see why dyche isn’t happy. I am surprised the other directors are happy with the current chairmen. For what we are now, which is a well established premier league side with european experience this just is not on. I don’t see how anyone can defend the way we are being run at the minute. Its like we are in the early/mid 2000s again but this tome we are a premier league club with no debt and millions in the bank! A lot does not add up. I am starting to really fear for us. We might not go bust any time soon but what is the point if we drop down the leagues. In a few years we could be the richest club in league one, oh the joy of that!

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
We need to pick up some championship & league 1 players and throw them in and just get a bigger squad. Sheffield utd team have faired ok and who last season would have called many of the 1st team prem quality.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
Duff next manager? If I was Duff and had the opportunity I’d stay well clear and remain at Cheltenham. We seem an absolute shambles. A laughing stock at the moment. Not good no matter how you try and spin it.
Dyche will be gone at the end of the season I am positive of that. He has had enough and I don’t blame him one bit. I feel sorry for Dyche.

Re: Moneybags City vs The Mighty Clarets
If we are paying Hendrick and Lennon until the end of June, then why are they not on the bench. Good move to start Brownhill if Hendrick has no intention of signing but can we afford to not have a professional PL player not on the bench
I suspect the press have not yet twigged we have 3 keepers in the team tonight

Not able to even fill the bench is beyond sad! Looks like there's definitely 'trubble darn't mill'. I hope this upcoming defeat isn't too bad as to sap all confidence from the team.
