Vydra

trying to concentrate on the footy - Vydra has made some excellent runs tonight, against weaker opposition he will do well if we can find him

In the first 20 minutes we played some good possession football, then caved in.I suspect SD was trying to protect Jay Rod for Thursday

Heads went down as soon as they scored. Different game then. Awful time to concede too.

Thought he was bright tonight.

In fact, the whole team was till they scored. After that I spent the entire game reading about the plane on Twitter shaking my head in embarrassment.

He would have been playing knowing he could not come off and be subbed-subject to a goal keeper playing in his postion

But you know that has nothing to do with it?

I disagree. He has been the first guy to get hooked off when he starts, and rarely got more than a few minutes at best as a sub. The psychology of that to a player is immense. Remember him playing at Newcastle. He had scored two wonder goals (southamton away, then home next game). Wood was suddenly fit again, started as sub and SD hooked Vydra off at half time, which is very early for SD to make a change. Vydra is showing he is a bright player

Wasn’t hooked at half time, he played virtually an hour and it was absolutely right to bring on Wood at that point in the game.

He showed last night early on glimpses of what he can do.
This guys a footballer. More than that, he's shown some decent character as he's not had the best of opportunities with us, without spitting his dummy out.
He's got his chance now and, as mentioned above, against sides nearer our level, he has goals in him.

Vydra was hooked the second he gave the ball away cheaply. Dyche saw it. And turned straight to Wood. He was on at the next opportunity. I thought Dyche was looking for any excuse to hook him

I'm not sure why CT is so adamant that it was the correct swap. We were poor for the last 20 minutes, and should have lost. Although I seem to remember Wood missing a very good chance

McNeil & Vydra were our 2 bright sparks last night, and surely against the likes of Watford they'll fancy themselves to create chances.

The reality like it or not is we're playing in a mini-league, and our season will be defined by how many wins we can rack up against the lower half sides, yes we'll pull off the odd upset such as winning at OT, but that's the exception to the rule, and those will be the games to judge Vydra on, he's already earned us a victory at Southampton, and scored the crucial opener against Bournemouth, he looked sharp last night, and this gives me confidence that with the right service he'll score his share.
