So who is available to play on Thursday.

Post by Guller Bull » Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:32 pm

I know a few of you will answer "Me" - get your boots polished, you might make the bench.

No seriously - is the bench going to be any stronger?
I didn't notice us pick up any injuries last night so the first team should be strong on paper again and with a game under their belt (and not playing City) I am hopeful of being a bit more competitive.

No word on Bardsley?

Nixon reporting Hendrick been offerd a "new deal".

Not clear if it means a temporary deal or a new full contract offer.

I'm touch and go with a sprained ankle.

I’d have to quarantine so that’s me ruled out. Sorry

Get that flight booked from Montpellier. You'll definitely get on the bench!

I can only confirm that I’ve not had a call but there again we’d be better with three goalkeepers than me anywhere near the bench.

Put my boots in the re-cycling skip only last week... but, got my Burnley shirt out of the wash. I'm happy to sit on the bench to make up the numbers.

EDIT: And, I can bring my own face covering.... :o

Rowls - if that's your attitude then don't bother turning up for pre season.
CT - you had an offer on the table now off you pop.
Boatshed - wear em in swimming pool for the next two days and you'll be grand - you are up front.
FC Burnley - Quarantine? Are they not Azerbazergiany league?
Paul Waine - Has the wife got any slippers? - You're up front.

Not been offered a (new) contract, so it's got to be a no from me.

As long as you can shout, you'll apparently concede less than Joe Hart did 😀

I had my walker all packed up ready to go t'Turf when I was told they didn't want me - even on the bench.

Sexism at its worst.

Probably my last chance at 68 so I'd be looking for at least two games, hopefully three.

Look, I have one good leg and a gammy ankle but i am ok otherwise. My boots are still in a drawer in the garage. I will Dubbin them, ready. That'll bamboozle the opposition!

Another 67 er.

We are on the move! (Loose form of the word)

Just had a thought.
Are electric scooters ok to use? I could be past the defenders with a turn of the wrist!

Week before lockdown, I'd spotted a walking football game near me. I was planning to see if they'd let me join in the day we learnt lockdown was starting. I think I'd be quite good at shielding the ball after all these weeks of practise. ;)

Annoyingly, I've already played at Turf Moor in one of the holycustard games, so I would have been a shoo-in. Except I'm a goalkeeper, the one position they aren't short. :(

I'm available but I'm 72 and I'm also a goalkeeper. I guess we have enough of those and they are probably a tad fitter than me anyway.

C'mon you Clarets reserves.
