tonight's games

Post by tiger76 » Tue Jun 23, 2020 7:42 pm

Leicester-Brighton is a snore-fest from what i can gather, guess it'll be a decent point for the seagulls, but the foxes are on the beach.

Tottenham-West Ham should be better surely.

I spent much of the game on the phone but it didn't look to be the most exciting of games.

Brighton look like they have got out of jail. Without the break I reckon they would have gone down. Sad really

Can understand them but I hate the drink breaks. Hopefully only a temporary thing. Will be having time outs next !!!

I can't lose the sneaking feeling that these new "drinks breaks" are a precursor to additional advertizing breaks for our beloved broadcasters.

Var kills another goal, owing to a shirt in the wind or something as stupid.

....and they think it is clever!

Barca in action also tonight, just kicked off at home to Bilbao, Real top on head-to-head record, so the pressure's on Barca to win, whatever it looks like going down to the wire in Spain.

They are arguing the toss, in the studio, about Sancho handball, or not.

They are saying hand ball. "A couple of views and we all agreed handball, but not given".

Well, my couple of views showed that Maura headed the ball a fraction before it went onto Sancho's head and then arm. That change surely makes it ball to arm a d not arm to ball?

Goal stood and rightly so.

Finished 2-0 to Spurs, bad for West Ham, good for me as i get 5 points on Super 6, it's looking dicey for the happy Hammers , they were poor again.

I didn't realise West Ham have lost their last 7 PL away games, that is relegation form for sure.

I think it's going to be 2 from Bournemouth, West Ham and Villa to join Norwich. Watford will have enough about them to grind out some results.

The way Bournemouth playing looks like they will be joining Norwich, just leaving WestHan to battle it out with Villa

I agree Watford will fight their way out of trouble, they are showing bottle, Norwich are toast, and then it's 2 from Bournemouth, Villa & West Ham, that West Ham-Villa game is looking like a one game shootout in the words of Shaun Wallace.

Brighton aren't out of the woods yet, but they've had a great few days, and are far more secure than they were before lockdown.

At least we can be confident that none of those are likely to get near 40 points, Brighton apart, But the other 5 will struggle to match our current points tally, even if we do implode, which despite our present travails is unlikely.

i hope the lowly teams don't go on a winning streak and sink us, we have it seems only enough players for a five a side league with a "rush back " goalie.

Stop stressing there's no chance all of Villa, Bournemouth, West Ham & Watford are going to win 4 games each, worst case scenario for us is we finish 15th/16th even without collecting another point, Villa are 13 points adrift, Bournemouth/West Ham 12, and Watford 11, and none of them are showing that they'll suddenly go on a winning run, Watford & Brighton might pick up, but the rest no chance, West Ham are in deep trouble they've only got 7 games remaining, and they probably need 3 wins at least to give themselves a chance, and even then that might not be enough, Villa need at least 4 wins, as do Bournemouth, one of them might hit form, but all 3/4 it's not gonna happen, and bear in mind West Ham-Villa play each other on the last day, so they can't both win, blimey a bunch of worrywarts on here, there's a reason we're 500/1 to go down.

So some big games tonight.

Man Utd-Sheff Utd is pivotal for the European slots.

Newcastle-Villa is vital for the Villains.

Norwich-Everton- is last chance saloon time for the Canaries, if the fat lady's not singing, she's warming up.

Wolves-Bournemouth-crucial for both for different reasons.

Liverpool-Palace- the scousers could have 1 and 3/4 hands on the title after tonight.

From our POV we want Everton, Newcastle & Palace to lose, but i find all 3 losing a long shot, i'd say Europe's beyond our reach now, but a top 10 finish isn't out of reach by any means, we'll need 3 points tomorrow though, to get among the pack chasing a top half finish.

Meanwhile in Spain RM need to win to reclaim top spot from Barca, in their battle royale for La Liga.

Also good to see Keano doing well, but where was the marking from the corner, no wonder Norwich are propping up the league defending like that.

Everton have come out a different team this half, clearly Carlo's had words at the break.

Wolves 1-0 against the Cherries yet another assist for Traore, not proving a happy night for the bottom sides again, and people still think we're in danger.

3 home wins out of 4 games thus far, that's unusual.

I think Sheff United will be lucky to finish in the top ten at this rate. They've simply collapsed.

Came from the Bundesliga 2 club Eintracht Braunschweig, who seemingly used to be successful before they dropped down the leagues.

Shows the advantage of a European scouting network, he impressed me, but sadly he'll be courted by many PL clubs this summer.

It's looking very much like two from WHU Bournemouth and Villa to join Norwich in the Championship next season.

I know Watford are only one point clear, but they look stronger to me, and may show this tomorrow evening.
