Released players from PL clubs
I note several players being let go today, any that we should be looking at?
West Ham have released Jeremy Ngakia, Carlos Sanchez, & Pablo Zabaleta.
And Everton have released Oumar Niasse, Cuco Martina and Luke Garbutt
Finally Liverpool have released Nathaniel Clyne.
I'd wager most of those are out of our wage bracket anyway, even if we were interested. and apart from Zabaleta, none of them have pulled up any trees, in their PL stint thus far.

I'd say zabaleta was a tree puller for city but way past it now.tiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 3:36 pmI note several players being let go today, any that we should be looking at?

I've always thought Clyne was a good player and is an improvement on the current right backs.
The rest are journey men at best or past their best

Clyne is an interesting one. Can't be that old and I doubt that he can command the same wage now. Attacking right back. Unless we let Lowton go, we are not looking for a rb atm.
Re: Released players from PL clubs
Clyne's been let go because of injuries as far as I can see.

I would take Clyne and reckon Dyche could get the best out of him. At his best he isan international class RB. Just depends on if he can stay injury free now..

Re: Released players from PL clubs
Clyne is a good player, but his injury record would worry me, we already have too many crocks in our squad now, if you could guarantee even 20 -25 games a season from Clyne, then i'd be interested, but in the last 3 years he's only played a handful of games, and he's not getting any younger.also with Bardsley resigning we don't really need a RB as an urgency.
But if we're going to be tightening the purse strings this summer, we need to keep an eye out for any potential bargains in the free transfer market, even some of the bigger clubs might be looking to trim their squads, and players could become available who ordinarily might not.

We need to sign players that will improve over the time they're with us.
Seen people raving about a young right back for Brighton who they got from Chelsea when released.
That's the sort of players we need to be recruiting.

Good player but the last memory of him was being run ragged by Dwight down at Bournemouth last season - injuries have done for him though.

Ngakia has turned down a few new deals at West Ham and is believed to have his new club lined up, West Ham will be entitled to compensation.

Re: Released players from PL clubs
True! Liverpool have also released several youngsters today, now obviously i know nothing about any of them, but you'd imagine they must have something about them if Liverpool recruited them, are they able to make the leap up to under23/1st team level no idea, but we've had success with the likes of McNeil, and now maybe young Max Thompson, who came from Man Utd & Everton respectively, so there is the talent out there, it's just a case of finding, recruiting and harnessing that said talent, that's the tricky part, because no doubt other clubs at various levels will have the same thought.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 4:02 pmWe need to sign players that will improve over the time they're with us.

Would take Lundstram from Sheff Utd (though Wilder has said that even if he can't agree a new deal he'll trigger a 12 month extension) and take a punt on Eliasson at Bristol but don't see many other viable freebies - from this country at least.

Clyne has problems.I believe they are more addiction related than injuries.

What makes you believe that?Longtimeclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 5:18 pmClyne has problems.I believe they are more addiction related than injuries.
