Jay Rodriguez
Looked to be carrying an injury when he went off.
Needs a good rubbing down with finny haddock watter before the Palace game.

Sorry but have to disagree, though not about the need for the haircut.

I’m enjoying seeing players with longer locks. Gets me nostalgic for the 1980’s.AfloatinClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 8:36 pmSorry but have to disagree, though not about the need for the haircut.

And hey maybe it makes me sound a bit gay. But you know what I don’t care, I’m comfortable with my sexuality.

Brady/Pieters in on the left and Dwight as a number 10 in a 4-1-1 formation

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Shame he got injured, but maybe a chance for young Thompson to get a game or two under his belt, we're safe now, so we not give the kid a go, we've nothing to lose, and who knows he might just take his chance to impress the boss.
Also pleasing to see that Jay's been adhering to the regulations, unlike all those well-manicured players seen in recent days.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Its possible if a sprain he could still be fit. We will be depleted if he is out.Possible to play Dwight behind Vydra if so and get Piters wide (who did OK tonight -with one tremendous cross)

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Didn’t look too bad the last shot they showed of him walking off at the end of the match. Only a very minor limp. Might not be worth risking him against palace but can’t see him out beyond that.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Hoping it was just very clever play-acting to break up play at a crucial point in the game. Was probably coming off anyway.
If not, fingers crossed JBG might be fit enough to play a half (he is “on grass, after all). Go 451, Vyds up top on his own.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
he didn't even mention it in his post match interview, suspect it's nothing to be of concern
Re: Jay Rodriguez
Glad we all don't pick the team!
He will be ok. No discussion about the injury.

He’ll be fine. Tactical move. Didn’t look in any discomfort at all .

Re: Jay Rodriguez
think the club were more worried about the tight hamstring than the ankle when he was taken off as a precaution

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Continuing his pre lockdown form, great to see. Love his movement up top.
I think he and Vydra can cause defences real problems with their clever off the ball movement. Perhaps not expected by teams expecting the 'long ball' cliché.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Just now at the Palace press conference. "He felt his hamstring but we hope it's nothing serious. We had to take him off as we're running out of players. I wouldn't have wanted to take him off. We'll find out more today."
Sounds good, but we all know how Sean is with injuries. He doesn't take chances.

Another quote from Sean today. "I've got two years left on my contract. I'm still here. I've been linked many times with other situations and I'm still here. It's difficult to beat the season we finished seventh, but we want to continue to improve. This season we have."
Maybe he's angling for his own contract to be improved? And why not? All the players seem to have wage rises.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Sean again.
"I think they've got bored linking me with other clubs so let's link him with no clubs and say he's had enough. If people want to talk about it it's up to them, nobody else knows what's going on."

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Commentators on NBCSN said that was Jays 50th Burnley goal. Not sure that’s correct. Can anybody confirm. Assume they mean league and cup

You're a bit behind the times mate. He dedicated it to his Grandad who died recently, straight after the game.

he doesn't seem concerned, Dyche said he was feeling a tight hamstring so that's why he was taken off - as a precaution. Meanwhile.....

Which was his first for us? I vaguely remember him scoring in the league cup against Fulham pretty early on.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Movement and anticipation for that goal last night was sublime. Defending that cross from McNeil with Jay's anticipation was impossible.

Re: Jay Rodriguez
Hope he's ok. Him and Vydra seem to be forming a very nice partnership.
At the start of the season I never thought I'd be saying this but for me they are now our number 1 strikeforce. I think we play nicer football generally with them in the team and look more dangerous going forward as a whole unit.

Agreed though I think they both work well off Wood as well.Goobs wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 5:31 amHope he's ok. Him and Vydra seem to be forming a very nice partnership.
