Agree with Tribesman.
A huge relief for all involved and hopefully puts
football back on the map after Monday night's embarrassment.

Dyche can now safely blood a few of the youngsters in remaining games
to see how many might just make the grade next season given we're going to be
at least 4 short in squad terms and possibly two in terms of first team.

I believe and hope Garlick will realise the predictament we're in
and splash a little more cash than he might otherwise.

Even if he sanctioned another 20m beyond what we could expect then
I don't think we'd be risking our financial stability.

Now's the time to be brave Mr. Garlick especially if we want to retain our manager
and be in a position to compete next season.

Indeed. Makes it even weirder that the board want to alienate the best manager we’ve had in my lifetime.

Said this a few times but not too sure we have the evidence to conclude its that way round, rather than a reasonable reluctance on the board's part to push the boat out beyond where they're comfortable. Of the players released this week who is in any way surprising is Hendrick and whilst none of us know what had gone on there, it seems reasonable to wonder why Charlie Taylor signed a new contract last autumn and Hendrick didnt.

Nothing lasts forever and after 8 years Dyche is more likely to leave with rach passing season. Serms to me how far we should stretch ourselves to delay the inevitable, particularly in the current climate, is a far from straightforward question.

Dyche has earnt the right for the board to back him, it's as simple as that for me. He has worked miracles at this club and i can fully understand why he is so frustrated

Me neither, just as long as we don't end up shipping out the best manager we've had for over 50 years.

If he wants out there's not much the chairman can do about it. Personally I don't buy the wrangle over contracts that were/were not offered.

Dyche has given this squad contracts up to a large % of our income. They're all well paid.

We're only 5m behind Watford, and we're above Bournemouth, that team we all accuse of paying massive wages. Wages wise, we're a mid table team now. That's where a lot of our money goes. He's been backed in that regard.

He has a 15 million pound defender training with another club. He's only been forced to use another expensive signing due to injuries. He gave the fans a little (tough in cheek admittedly) telling off when we cheered for said player.

He insists on the "personal" knowledge that limits our recruitment from Europe.

I'm sorry but the moaning about the board didn't come across well for me. He's been brilliant, He is brilliant. But doesn't excuse his limitations and faults. Stop moaning and get on with it. Maybe, just maybe use a sub now and then and the team wouldn't be so f in tired.

It can't be as simple as that though, because what "backing him" means is entirely subjective. If he wants to sign Harry Kane, then we shouldn't back him, because it would bankrupt the club. There have to be boundaries, and its Dyche job to push them and the board's job to try and maintain them, or limit how far they get stretched. That's the ying and yang of running a football club, particularly one like ours. Of course we need to "back" Dyche so far as is sensible - and that needs to take into account the longer term interests of the club and the legacy that his successor will inherit - which becomes more of a point of friction the longer Dyche is here because, he's getting likelier and likelier to leave each summer. That is the nature of a football manager's lifecycle.

Maybe if Garlick came out and gave his side of events it might help. I understand he’ll move on but for us to lose him over an apparent rift would be absolutely ridiculous for this football club.

Only one side comes out of the apparent wrangling with rep fully intact and its not Sean. We are staying up and have been since March. Why would anyone commit to unecessary costs in a time of unprecedented uncertainty. Certainly not for an average player that could have signed up months ago.

Why would a Chairman be bullied into something clearly not a good idea? The manager is now clear, as are players and more importantly their agents. We are no pushover.

Question is will Dyche still be here, particularly if Aston Villa get relegated? Big club, much nearer to Kettering and all that. Would be a good match.

I think Tony said that Sean was 'at the end of his tether', and it also seems a possibility that like many of us at the present time his tether may have got a bit shorter so that he said things that he wouldn't have otherwise.

I think the chances of a row becoming an irreversible split would only be increased if the discussions are carried out in public. Garlick's better off keeping stum.

Surely Dyche must know exactly why Garlick is doing whatever it is he is doing, and why? Dyche must be £in the know" re contract discussions, even if he isn't doing them?

It looks like Sean has got fed up with the financial constraints. The board will need to look for further investment to keep him satisfied and moving the team forward, otherwise it will be just a matter of time before he looks elsewhere.

I think a lot of people on here are missing what Sean himself said. Not an exact quote but something like, "We often have disagreements but I like to park them quickly." That to me suggests that any disagreement is now 'Parked' and they have moved on.

Sean has lost two 'Past it' players and kept one of the decent two, so hopefully he will now be a bit happier. He might also have been told what his transfer budget for the next window is and maybe our chairman has sweetened it a little? (He won't want to lose Sean.)

The media are creaming themselves in the hope that Sean leaves us and they are stoking the flames in the same way the Daily Mail stokes the racism flames. Just because the media hates us, doesn't mean they are right.

I don't think Sean is going anywhere. Why would he? He has the best job in the world. Manager of Mighty Burnley.

C'mon you PL Clarets.

Crystal Palace press conference at 1-15 pm today. Hopefully we'll find out a bit more about J Rod's injury. I like Vyds but not sure I fancy him on his own up front against the Eagles.

Dyche has shown throughout his time here that he is a responsible manager. If the price of keeping him is letting him spend more of the money that he has earnt the club then i think it's worth it.

Chris Boden summed up the situation for me with the last two paragraphs of his match report from yesterday:

"So, Mr Chairman, I hope I speak for the vast majority of Clarets supporters, in saying, please, please, do all you can to give the manager the tools he needs to continue his remarkable legacy.

Losing him is simply unfathomable, especially if it was from a self-inflicted wound."

Players come, players go...managers have to evolve a team. I'm sure Hendrick was planning to run down his contract but expected a whack for playing beyond June for 7 more games...having had 3 months off.
I can't believe Dyche seriously expected the chairman to rubber stamp keeping all those players on for an extra month given our league position. Better to put the finance towards strengthening.
