Man of the match for me,and although i think we will miss him immensely....on that performance he looks like a upgrade on Hendrick.

Yes, impressed by Brownhill. If he starts taking his chances, even better, but I'm sure SD will be on with that.

Re: Brownhill
He’s better than Hendrick so far. Was immense defensively and going forward he has a good turn of pace and whipped in an excellent ball in the first half. I’m really looking forward to seeing him play centrally.

Re: Brownhill
More dynamic and nimble than Hendrick. Still a way to go but it's a good start
Re: Brownhill
Looks way better than Hendrick for me, can beat a man, energetic, defensively immense tonight and prepared to drive forward with the ball, very two footed.

Re: Brownhill
Good performance. Needs to do some shooting practice. 3 poor shots on goal in the last 2 matches. But Everything else good.

Another excellent performance, he was everywhere. Going to be a real player for us.

Re: Brownhill
Brilliant tonight.
I watched Hendrick double up with Bardsley this season (against Spurs, I think?) and thought his performance was outstanding. I wondered if we’d get that level of maturity from Brownhill. Tonight he was even better defensively and more dynamic going forward. Outstanding performance. As someone above wrote “looks a claret”.
Great prospect, hope he continues to improve.

A very promising start. His positional sense off the ball is exceptional.

I will put it down to snatching at shots. Hopefully down to nerves and will come good when he settles.TheOriginalLongsider wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 11:12 pmGood performance. Needs to do some shooting practice. 3 poor shots on goal in the last 2 matches. But Everything else good.
Re: Brownhill
Sure someone’s already mentioned it somewhere, but for me it looks like he has played for Burnley for a few seasons rather than a few months. He just gets it - I really do think Hendrick has been adequately replaced*

Like the look of him. He's got a chance to play in the big league and grabbed it with both hands.

Re: Brownhill
thought he played well but not great but did show great effort and appears to have the legs to last and showed he understands the teams minimum requirements. Think it wont take to long before he is really making his mark and being a name that goes on every first team selection, super team performance for me, especially first half I was really impressed by the team and how we played.

Early signs look very good. He’s comfortable with the ball, gets around the pitch and fits in the team well.
Credit has to go to Mike Rigg for finding him.

I've been impressed with the little I've seen. Works hard. Always looking for the ball. Likes to combine nice football with grit. Could be a useful addition, and maybe a nice balance playing with a DCM and Dwight as a number 10 at some point.

Re: Brownhill
Really impressed with him after only a week of starts. He hasn't looked out of place at all. Not perfect performances but he looks to have some courage on the ball and is always in and around play wanting to be involved. He is young and athletic and looks to have some nice touches. Hopefully he'll keep getting more and more confident as Dyche moulds him. Can also see him replacing Cork being the busy body presser in the middle freeing up Westwood to get on the ball. Positive signs going ahead.

Has a look of Mark Noble about him, a player I have always admired.
Thought he was superb last night and looks like he'll fit right in.

Played very well. Has the essential work effort.
Hendrick did not let us down, when playing, either!

Think he’s still finding his feet. Needs more composure with shooting too. Lots of endeavour and clearly a good footballer. I like his positive style of play and I think he’ll get better and better.

Re: Brownhill
Hardly a hidden gem, he was captain of a top half championship side. Might well have played an important role in getting the deal done though.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:28 amEarly signs look very good. He’s comfortable with the ball, gets around the pitch and fits in the team well.

Re: Brownhill
Looks a very neat footballer. Athletic too and one of those annoying nagging players who just won't let you get away (as shown in the Ayew incident). Looks promising. Well played, Josh.
Re: Brownhill
Best thing Nakhi Wells did for the club was act as the sweetener to get Bristol City to sanction the sale. Young, northern and toughened up by years of championship football. He seems to be loving playing with much better players than he was used to and once the finishing comes we will have a gem. Forget foreign signings £40 m for Joelinton anyone?- focus on the EFL and let’s see if we can bag a couple more gems. If Forest don’t go up I’ve always thought Joe Lolley looks a real player.

Re: Brownhill
There were 4 premier league clubs trying to sign him and West Ham put in a bid for him that offered more wages at the last minute but we managed to get it over the line with a lot of external pressure so someone did a good job.

Josh is looking the part and due to the present circumstances has been thrown in at the deep end, which he will be more than happy about.
