Chelsea/City
1-0 Chelsea
Re: Chelsea/City
And City's defence looks poor in comparison to the rest of their side.

Re: Chelsea/City
What was Mendy doing? It was obvious that Pulisic was looking to burn him for pace and he fell for it.

Re: Chelsea/City
The scousers preparing to party, City have never replaced Kompany, and the injury to Laporte killed their title defence stone dead, even that early in the campaign, if they lose tonight, and it's got a long time to run yet, that'll be their 8th PL defeat of the season, Liverpool have only lost twice in nearly 2 seasons, City will have to strengthen in the summer, but if they can't offer European football, who are they going to attract?
Be a big victory for Chelsea, they'll be right on Leicester's tails if they hang on.

Just been reading the live updates on BBC website. Some of the liverpool fans who are commenting are proper wet lettuces. You'd think this was the last game of thr season and City were about to pip them to the title.

Re: Chelsea/City
This must be the least enjoyable way to win a title though. Just endless waiting for the inevitable, and then won without fans being able to celebrate together, and even then clinched due to another team failing to win. Amusing really.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:46 pmJust been reading the live updates on BBC website. Some of the liverpool fans who are commenting are proper wet lettuces. It’s a brilliant game.
I get the impression these top sides feel less pressure behind closed doors and they perform better
Edit Fernandinhos guilty face

2-1 Chelsea
Re: Chelsea/City
For such a great master tactician why has Guardiola ignored the defensive failings that have been obvious against the better sides.

Re: Chelsea/City
Be the 2nd time in recent history Chelsea have won the league for another team, they ensured Leicester got over the line in 2016, by holding Spurs to a 2-2 draw, talking of Leicester they'd better buck up if they want to ensure their top 4 place, the chasers are closing in rapidly.

Re: Chelsea/City
City never replaced Kompany in the summer, when they should have, the injury to Laporte was a blow, but one defender being out shouldn't cause such a collapse, for a team of their stature.

Liverpool fans on the streets in Merseyside with red flares. Which of course were in fashion the last time they won the league....

Re: Chelsea/City
Liverpool deservedly champions, they've romped home in style, the frightening aspect for everyone else, is how young their squad is, and they can only improve, they could dominate for 3/4 years, there's not an obvious challenger to their crown, City maybe, but even they'll have to have an overhaul in the summer, and the rest are still in development, Leicester, Chelsea & United have lots of young talent, but none of them look capable of sustaining a title challenge over the course of a season.
