i can't see 2 out of Watford, West Ham, Bournemouth, or Villa winning another 3 games
I can't see them winning 3 games between them the way they have been playing since Project Restart.

Bournemouth's issues are the amount of injuries and unavailable players, they have almost a full first XI not available for various reasons, and that's tough to overcome in a relegation battle.
Exactly the same situation as we have I think. 3 out of contract, Wood, Barnes, Rodriguez, Lowton, JBG, Brady and possibly Cork all on the treatment table and 1 player, Gibson, forcibly self-isolating a hundred miles away from Turf Moor.

I haven't looked at the remaining fixtures for a few days, but i'd say if Bournemouth don't get 3 points this evening at home to Newcastle they're going to struggle, Villa are in danger of being cut adrift unless they start picking up points, despite last night's reverse i can't see Brighton getting dragged into trouble, they also have a great chance of 3 points at the weekend when they travel to Norwich, a win there, and they'll be virtually safe, i can't see 2 out of Watford, West Ham, Bournemouth, or Villa winning another 3 games, and i'll discount Norwich from the equation, as they have too much ground to make up.

That West Ham-Villa game looms large on the horizon, and given the present standings it's shaping up to be a winner takes all clash.

Bournemouth's issues are the amount of injuries and unavailable players, they have almost a full first XI not available for various reasons, and that's tough to overcome in a relegation battle.

At this moment i'd go for Norwich, Villa, and Bournemouth to drop, but it's so tight that just one win for anybody down there, and the picture changes massively, it'll come down to nerve, and i can see Watford having enough to just survive, the other 3 all have doubts over their mentality.
Regarding Bournemouth, I'd go as far as saying tonight is a must-win for them.

Remaining games for them after tonight: man u - SPURS - LEICESTER - man city - SOUTHAMPTON - everton

I'm still sticking with Villa and Bournemouth to accompany Norwich down.

They're just not putting the points on the board they need.

As said, the Cherries need to win tonight to have a glimmer. A draws not much good.

The mileage about right, was 91 to Guisborough via blubberhouses :D

It wouldn't be likely to save them, but I'd very much enjoy seeing Norwich sweep the points in their three games against relegation rivals. It would almost ensure some final day drama.

So is that West Ham edging towards safety after tonight? they'll certainly feel more comfortable than they did this afternoon.

I think WH are safe after that, more in the fact they played well, ok much better than previously and it will have been a real confidence boost, plus some dismay to the others in this dog fight.

Aye think they are safe now. Looking very much like Norwich, Villa and Bournemouth for the chopping board.

be glad to see the back of norwich, just never took them seriously as a football club.
same goes for bournemouth, probably because of the place itself.

well it's only a one win swing but WH have that GD in favor, Watford still a potential as they really have not played that well but also have a slightly better GD but that could quickly be turned around. Didn't see anything of the Bournemouth game but WH deserved a draw at a minimum and just edged it for me. Still think that a couple more fluke results might make more changes in the mix, perm any 2 from 4 and add Norwich. It's interesting to watch when you're not involved in it and have zero nerves :)

WH Vs Watford could be interesting in a couple of weeks

The biggest thing West Ham had in their favour is that they looked bothered. Bournemouth looked like they didn't realise the season had restarted, and didn't care either.

I think WHU are very capable of two more wins which would make the three referred to in an earlier post. They have us Watford and Villa at home and Norwich away and could see them getting a result at Newcastle this Sunday now after that confidence boosting win. Tonight for them was a bit like our win against Leicester.

I thought Bournemouth were poor against Palace but they look like they'd given up last night. It could have been far worse as Toon missed a sitter and hit the post. It says something when Newcastle play you off the park.

Surprised by the West Ham result last night but they're quite known for pulling off a great result and then losing the next one. If ever a team was inconsistent it's West Ham.

I think West Ham can afford to lose most of their remaining games now. This could be one of hell of a low total for whoever finishes in 18th place and therefore needed to stay up in 17th.

At this rate it could be as low as 33 points and you're safe.

I think we have the lowest number of points for a team in 18th on 30 in 2010.

I was quite impressed with Palace at Bournemouth, but then Newcastle last night looked really good.

I can only think this is both because Bournemouth are awful. There's no fight or obvious direction. I know they have and have had lots of injuries but there's no excuse for these sort of performances. They're gone aren't they.

Norwich and Bournemouth to go and either Villa or Watford to accompany them. Think it'll be Villa.

Unfortunately, West Ham look like they'll survive.

They might do, but not for long, as they will have their annual delusion about breaking into the top 6. I think they will survive this time out.

One club who won't are Bournemouth unless there is a remarkable transformation in mentality, that performance yesterday was woeful,Nathan Ake is vastly overrated and you wouldn't want Phillip Billing strolling around the midfield when you need muck and bullets to get you out of trouble.

Hope Watford survive and Villa drop but i see it being between these 2 for the last spot.

Norwich are gone, Bournemouth are waving the white flag with these performances, and Brighton, Watford & West Ham all have Norwich to play, so it's looking like Norwich, Bournemouth & Villa to take the drop.

Once again 2 promoted clubs sent home with their tail between their legs.
Possibly a mass exodus from Villa.

There's no disgrace in Norwich going down with their budget, but Villa have performed as badly as Fulham, and you do wonder if some clubs will learn the lesson that throwing money at staying in the PL is no guarantee.

I'll be :o if Grealish & Mings are still at Villa next season, the rest they might have a chance of holding onto for a season, they should have a good shot at bouncing straight back up, the Championship hasn't been great this season, and many clubs will have to cut their budgets due to covid, so Villa should have easily the largest budget in that league.

Whilst they have been unlucky with injuries to Tom and McGinn, the signing of Wesley as their attacking spearhead and goal threat was disastrous, he wasn't of the required standard. Marvelous Nakamba also hasn't lived up to his name either.

Put it into Google translate and you get "marvelous shell" (translation from Nyanja which is spoken in Zimbabwe), which might not be too far off!

Must wins for Bournemouth & Villa tomorrow you'd think now, Brighton, Watford & West Ham inching towards safety, Norwich will be relegated this weekend if they don't beat West Ham.

I would think that the bottom 3 will stay as it is. It will be good to get shut of Villa who have money and would be serious contenders to lure Dyche

Another round down and amazingly 4 wins.
Looking difficult for the bottom 3, Norwich already gone, but stranger things have happened.

It’s set up for a great finish. If there is a loser in the Watford v West Ham game (a draw could be a banker) one of them will be looking over their shoulders - possibly not after the next round, but likely the round after.

West Ham v Villa on the last game could be a winner takes all.

Having watched today's matches Crystal Palace must be relieved they are already safe as they are in free fall.

Lose their last 3 games (making 8 losses in a row) and I cannot see Hodgson being in charge next season (new contract or not).

Not necessarily. There's no guarantee that the others will lose by only 1 goal. If Watford lose their extra match by 2, or Bournemouth's extra win is by 2, then they've caught up.

West Ham need to only win 1 game IMO to stay up, 4 points from the 2 home games should be easy peasy.

I would prefer Bournemouth and Villa to drop personally, and looking at the fixtures i think that is what will happen, fair enough Bournemouth and Villa got their wins this weekend, but they needed to get in front for it to get close. The fact West Ham and Watford both won all but sent them down for me.

Hoping for a Watford win at West Ham and Villa to win at Everton, it should then go down to the last game of the season
