Just to add, anyone who passes and has forgotten their tins, or just didnt think theyd pass and wanted to contribute, theres a family run shop that sells tins and none perishables right across the road from the bin.
You can help 2 families at once, and you've still done your bit for the food bank

Good. I shall be along shortly with some branston beans (they knock Heinz into a cocked hat) and some soup.
Great initiative btw.

Re: Clarets for Foodbanks are on Padiham Road today
Excellent, might not make it up today due to the weather, but will pop a few tins in when I'm out with the dog at some point.
As mentioned above for anyone who passes and has forgot their tin, or wants to contribute, there's a shop directly across from the bin that sells various suitable items.

In addition to this bin and the other established collection points, there's also one at the junction of Pendle Way & Foxcroft, near both Wellfield and St. Mary Magdalene's Primary schools ....

Is the food bank there today? Got quite a bit of stuff to drop off, I’ll do it next time if not.

We popped by yesterday lunch time and to say the rain was torrential would be an understatement, and the bin was about half full.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 10:23 pmAnother great effort over the last two days with the Clarets for Foodbanks bin on Padiham Road. The rain didn't look like it had put people off.
Hopefully it was full by collection point.
Do you know if this will be a weekly thing CT?

I don't to be fair. It all depends on the people who have been managing it.MACCA wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:23 amWe popped by yesterday lunch time and to say the rain was torrential would be an understatement, and the bin was about half full.

I'll keep an eye out for the threads then.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:58 amI don't to be fair. It all depends on the people who have been managing it.
We often run a bring a tin in, and take it down to the food bank next to TK Max once we get a basket full.
However we cant go down there at the moment, so will start collecting some tins ahain and pop them in the clarets for food bank bins.
They're only round the corner from us.
Re: Clarets for Foodbanks are on Padiham Road today
Are there any plans for this to be put out again before Christmas?

No problem, we've another bag of food collected.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 4:07 pmIt's not going to be possible to have one there I don't think this month. If anything changes I'll let everyone know.
I'll take a few detours and see if the man has a bin outside his house again, and put it in there.
Re: Clarets for Foodbanks are on Padiham Road today
Bump
There is a bin out at the bottom.of Pendle Way today, so anyone in the ightenhill , Padiham Rd , Gannow or Whittlfield area can pop some bits in there if they're wanting to contribute before Christmas.
It does have the same sticker on as the clarets foodbank one usually on Padiham Rd, so it's going the same place
