Travel to Palace?

Post by burnmark » Mon Jun 29, 2020 7:25 am

How have the players and staff travelled to the game tonight? Are hotel stays permitted? Would they have got the train, coach (I think at least two are needed for social distancing.)

I noticed Palace transported their players in individual people carriers for the game to Liverpool last week and Arsenal flew to Manchester City from Stansted with a 5pm departure for an 8pm kick off which was cutting it a little fine!

I really can’t understand why they can’t all travel individually on the morning of the game? If someone does catch it between tests, they’re putting themselves at unnecessary risk.

Out of interest, where did they stay when everywhere is closed, CT?

I wondered that, thinking hotels were closed, and I read that the Premier League were encouraging travel on the day. Then Man U stayed overnight when they played at Spurs and I know that Watford stayed in a local hotel.

I had to drive to Watford and back in a day last Monday because there were no hotels open. One rule for one and another for the PL stars, I see!

As annoying as that may have been, a football club block booking out 30 rooms for players/staff that are being regularly tested is a lot safer than 30 “individuals”

A point for every coach would do nicely.

Lucky we haven't got a full squad, we'd have to pay for four.

Fair enough. Assume we didn’t do that for tonight’s game though, or did we?

Quite a few hotels are open for essential workers. Not sure how footballers would be classed as such though.
