What a thoroughly enjoyable 1st half

Post by MACCA » Mon Jun 29, 2020 8:48 pm

I've got to say how easy on the eye that first 45 minutes of football was.
Great crisp, quick passing, and by us keeping the ball its meant Palace haven't been able to build up any momentum to attack, and put us under pressure.
I've thoroughly enjoyed that, and we've had the better of the half chances too.

Looks like it will cost me a few quid if we keep this up, but cannot complain.

Excellent Burnley, and more of the same please in the 2nd half.

Very good half. Just need a moment as Sean would say.

Some good football on display there. All that's needed is a few more clear cut chances.

We're playing well and we're the better team. Let's hope we can push on.

Playing some good football, just missing a target man like Wood

Totally agree. Hugely pleasing to see us moving the ball around so comfortably.

Josh Brownhill has really impressed me.

Lovely football with McNeil running the game.

Joy to watch.

Yo be honest I think that's why we are playing this way, as we've no target man as such.
Had a few half chances, from.the corner, McNeil and Brownhill cross.

If we ended it now, that would be z near perfect away performance

Great first half.

We need to bring Vydra more into the game somehow. Its only a quick pass away from the first goal.

Think we have been excellent. Calm, composed and confident.

Don’t look like we have our three first choice strikers missing. Ok we haven’t scored. But the movement and link up has been very good.

Word for McNeil too. I’m not one who wants to see him play inside as his ability to get a ball in is incredible. But he has been outstanding. 20 years old. Left winger playing in centre mid against experienced opposition. With a full back on his left and a centre mid on his right. He’s absolutely controlled it. Dropping deep to pick the ball up. Confident running through the middle. Confident carrying it and spreading it. All that’s lacking is a good strike.

McNeil has been brilliant.

Brownhill looks raw but energetic.

Westwood is Westwood. So good on the ball and in tight spaces.

Two closely matched teams but we have been the most progressive.

We look very confident on the ball all over the pitch.

We seem to be playing with a freedom that I suppose comes from being safe and in an empty stadium. Let’s hope we can nick it in the second half.

best half I've seen in a while, I think if we had a target man then we would be 4,4, 2 and not have played this well, on the floor, crisp passing etc. with a few lovely triangles thrown in.
