Spot on. All the noise before the game was of CP going level with Spurs. Not a word on us doing the same. Immense performance. Fluent, fluid football first half and backs to the wall defending second but with enough know how to get it down and play out when the opportunities allowed.
I just can’t speak highly enough of them tonight.

you just got back Tony, that was a fast trip up, motorway must have been empty and the pubs closed!

I was so impressed with McNeil in that no 10 role. We played some brilliant football in that first half with him pulling the strings.
I'd like to see that setup used next season (the rest of this season will be more about getting whatever side we can out on the pitch).

They were bleating on about Palace in Europe during the Bournemouth game the other week. Which I found bizarre.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 12:44 amSpot on. All the noise before the game was of CP going level with Spurs. Not a word on us doing the same.

It is a good job the manager and players have a bit more backbone than some of the fans who spent the hour leading up to kick off giving up and conceding before a ball had even been kicked.
Great performance

I hate this having to watch on TV, I really do, but you do get home a bit quicker.

We have shown in the past two games, maybe its the dry pitches, or that we do not have Barnes & Wood up front, that we are a formidable football playing side. In all fairness I never knew we could be so good at possession and passing. Jack Cork and Westwood were superb, and Taylor, Tarks and Mee were exceptional in distribution. Pope has had little to do in two games a reflection of players doing their job. I think if we had Jay last night we could have scored two or three-it would have given Mydra more support and freedom

This morning I am still astonished, amazed, overawed, disbelieving, nay gobsmacked at the result. It defies, gravity and logic. The wheels keep falling off the bus but it just keeps trundling along. Brownhill is a steal. Mee is a legend. Tarks a sh*thouse, McNeil leaves no footprints in the snow, Bardsley is a monster, Vydra hardly touched the ball but ran his heart out badgering their back four, Pieters a giant, Taylor awesome... Westwood legend, Cork unsinkable... awesome the lot of em

So you don't think it had anything to do with the length of the grass then :warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:07 amWe have shown in the past two games, maybe its the dry pitches, or that we do not have Barnes & Wood up front, that we are a formidable football playing side. I honestly think if we had any recognizable striker we would ha been 4/4/2 and DM would have been out wide and not playing in that number 10 position, also if Barnes or Wood had played we would have been somewhat more direct.

Well if I'm being linked with Jonathan Liew it will more than do for me.SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 2:24 pm2 good reads - Tony's report and the Guardian.
