Re: FA Distance Themselves From BLM Movement
They can indeed.
I don't think Ben Mee and the many, many thousands sharing his opinion need worry about the racists' gloating over a perceived hole they've supposed to have dug themselves into.
At least those clowns who were quite rightly chucked off this board recently were brave enough to state their views honestly and openly........

They feel "cowed", do they ? And you know this how ?claretandy wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 11:58 amIt's a shame footballers feel cowed into taking the knee, well done the F1 drivers who didn't.
Why a "Well done" to the F1 drivers who didn't take the knee ?
Their T - shirts rather detract from your satisfaction, surely, - some are kneeling, some are standing, ALL are wearing a very strong message that would have been seen by millions. What's the problem ?

Re: FA Distance Themselves From BLM Movement
Love how the drivers not kneeling are thinking for themselves yet those who do kneel, according to Benny, aren't thinking for themselves.
Love how the drivers not kneeling are more aware of what's going on than the lads who are kneeling.
Love how kneeling is now classed, at least by Benny, as an extremist political gesture.
So many claims, so many assumptions.
It must be awful to be so terrified of the world we're living in.

I doubt the vast majority of sports fans could give a toss wether or not their team/player /driver takes a knee or not. Though one can only imagine the career ending uproar if a footballer chose not to kneel. Sometimes in life you have to tow the line if it means your lifestyle, family and earning potential are at stake If you also happen to believe in said cause well all the better .

Re: FA Distance Themselves From BLM Movement
Would have been incredibly intersting to see the reaction from fans if the players were still kneeling had crowds been allowed. Going off the remarkable reaction to the clubs response to the plane banner and the vilification they received off fans of all clubs..i get the feeling it might have been causing some issues within grounds.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 12:37 pmI doubt the vast majority of sports fans could give a toss wether or not their team/player /driver takes a knee or not. Most people are sick to the back teeth of BLM and taking the knee. The reaction by now from the crowds would have been negative, without a doubt.

If Ben Mee continues to do it, along with others, what will your reaction to him be like?Top Claret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 1:01 pmMost people are sick to the back teeth of BLM and taking the knee. The reaction by now from the crowds would have been negative, without a doubt.
Should he leave the club?

I'll ask again. Please explain what the term means and how I'm "Woke" and/or a "Nazi" or retract the statement.

I don't doubt what so ever that Ben Mee is doing it from a good place, from having a good heart, and is not some sandal wearing lunatic.
Once, okay, to carry on doing it puts it up there with goal music and clapping every 5 minutes for dead people.

The T shirts worn by the F1 drivers have got it right. The message said 'End Racism'
Of all description

Re: FA Distance Themselves From BLM Movement
They all wore the shirt with that message on it. Some drivers knelt, some didn't. I still don't get why those standing receive a "well done" yet those kneeling don't.
A matter of personal choice, surely ?
Not sure what the "Of all description" means, tbh.

Re: FA Distance Themselves From BLM Movement
First to correct you, they did not all wear the 'End Racism' shirt unless you can see something in that picture that I can't.
I don't think any explanation of 'Of all description ' is needed

Re: FA Distance Themselves From BLM Movement
Fair enough except "Of all description" as an attempted sentence doesn't make any sense, does it ?
If you're suggesting the message on the shirt meant something akin to "End racism in all its forms" then , yup, with you on that one.
Who wouldn't be ?

It's a message that if you wanted to oppose, you'd have to say something actually racist.
That's the problem with Black Lives Matter; it isn't conciliatory, like good anti-discrimination campaigns. It's actively aggressive and confrontational. Not to mention politically extreme and intransigent.
To put it another way, did the Jake Hepple's of this world never pay £600 for a plane that said "Say 'Yes' To Racism!" or Don't Kick It Out"?
No, they did not.

Well they'd have to be monumentally stupid to do that wouldn't they?Rowls wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 1:06 amWell exactly.

No, they did not.
They also didn't send a message saying BLM is supporting Marxism or All lives matter which is apparently the big issue you all have with BLM
