Don’t kid yourself. In the grand scheme of things we ARE a little club, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
Sad to see Jeff go but I'm looking forward to Josh pushing us onwards n upwards.
And if Jeff was upset by moans and groans by some of our fans, does he think the Rossoneri will keep quiet when he gives the ball away ?

Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
We are a small town club with a rich history, and periods of success, I just thought a player that’s played here for four years might be able to see past that label, and not feel the need to put us in our place!
I wish him all the best in the future, but only time will tell If he achieves more success elsewhere. Although it could be financially advantageous for him

Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
What stops Jeff from being a top player is hesitation, especially in the opposition pen area. When he just whacks it he can score some worldies. He thinks the grass is greener somewhere else it might be. Anyway all the best and thanks for the good service

Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
I don’t think anyone is suggesting we are not a small club, just that he didn’t need to say that having earned 8 million from said little club tbh.
It’s all about having class when you leave and I don’t think we saw Joey Barton or Michael Keane mention little club when they left (who had played for significantly bigger clubs than Jeff had)...it should have been worded better.
I wouldn’t define any business paying someone in a year an amount not dissimilar to at least two times the lifetime average earnings of the common man....as little btw

Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
Thanks jeff for your time at Burnley.
I have said it before & I will say it again - Jeff has left because of the fans.
His farewell statement reads " The crowd noise didn't go unnoticed"
He / his agent will have no problem securing a lucrative 3 year deal from another club where, hopefully his efforts will be appreciated.

Nonsense. If you read the full sentence " The crowd noise don't go unnoticed and it really helps push the lads on so keep it up "Nonayforever wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 8:23 pmThanks jeff for your time at Burnley.

That doesn't sound like someone affected by the crowd to me.
I have said it before and I will say it again - players play for the pay packet not the fans.

Been a good player for us, not helped by being played in a position he clearly wasn’t suited to early on..... he got the abuse (And there was plenty directed his way from where I stand in the CFS) for that when people’s vitriol should’ve been directed elsewhere.
I wish him good luck but I feel his best years may well have been here with us.

Jeff hasn't just written that tweet on the spur of the moment. It is carefully worded.Aclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 8:45 pmNonsense. If you read the full sentence " The crowd noise don't go unnoticed and it really helps push the lads on so keep it up "

There is a sarcastic meaning within that sentence ;-
"The crowd noise didn't go unnoticed" - meaning he heard the jeers.
"It really helps push the lads on" - meaning its us ( the players) against the world / fans / opponents
" so keep it up" - The sarcastic part - carry on doing what you do.
Its a shame when a player leaves a team. where he is probably settled, for an uncertain future.
Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
Frustrated to see a "little club" let £10m of talent just walk out of the door.
Financial madness.
That said, contributed to a very successful period in the club's history.
Well done Jeff.

An effective utility player but one who I sense will go downhill from here. Most clubs want flair out wide or pace through the middle. Jeff has neither. He has a chance of a good move but post-Covid seems 50/50. Probably a player who thinks he is better than he is.

I'm always amazed when people can find meaning where maybe there's none.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 10:02 pmJeff hasn't just written that tweet on the spur of the moment. It is carefully worded.

Jeff is an uncomplicated person, he probably said the first t'ing that came into his head.
He's a footballer.....28 years old and wealthy beyond his dreams, he's moving on, he's probably very excited to see what's next.
Good luck to him!......He always did his best & that's all you can ask.

Wonder if this will affect Jeff's proposed move to Milan. Former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has agreed to take over from current boss Stefano Pioli at AC Milan next season.

Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
I think SSN jumped a bit quickly on the Milan story last week.
Re: A goodbye message from Jeff
Is it just me that gets irked at him using 'don't ' instead of 'doesn't '?
