Wouldn’t be surprised to see that Farnell El Kashashy enter the scene for another fantasy bid.

Sounds like they need Chris Farnell to come and save the day.
He's already been there once

did you ever find out why his tenure was so short in the Wigan boardroom - I have not found out a thing about it

I didn't. He got in there through Martinez I believe but didn't last long.

A new bidder emerges but has some unusual requests - a questioning thread - and a very good one too

this is a decent read on the drawn out administration - which is deserving of being questioned in it's own right

As if by magic the administrators try too hard to justify their actions

Why do you say " trying too hard to justify their actions " ?

The administrators statement seems perfectly reasonable to me.

they are culpable in the drawn out nature of this exercise and of continually making moves to reduce the value of what is on sale, including after setting a price with those the were talking too, they have also taken an awful lot of money off fans groups whilst dragging this out. All that before you start looking at the rates being charged and the bonus when the sale goes through

to emphasise my point. they have devalued the club so much that at some point (if this carries on their fees are going to exceed the price they are looking to sell the club for, they could theoretically become the clubs biggest creditors

In this particular case, are the administration fees being added to the sale price, or are the fees being paid for on a weekly / monthly basis by monies received from player sales ?

I understand some fees are being paid at irregular intervals, there is then the bonus should a sale go through, The fees of course have to be paid in full unlike the current effort to get 25p in the £ for other creditors

A new consortium being put together to buy the club, includes a former Chairman - is that Whelan's grandson?

EDIT

that report came out just hours after this much more depressing and grounded view from the administrator

it is on the MMT thread but fits just as well here

@AndyhHolt with a very interesting perspective on the EFL rules around administration this morning - there is a lot to consider here as it looks like Wigan may complete a whole season under administration and there is a possibility that could run into a second season or they end up playing another team in administration

Interesting piece in todays Observer about the Wigan, including praise for the EFL by the manager even with all the sanctions that have been imposed, astounding how quickly an owner with integrity can clear debts and get off on the right foot with everyone in the game and community - the embargoes mean they should not overstretch, but what the new owner has done should help restore faith and that crucial ingredient for football - hope

Back from the brink: takeover brings optimism back to ailing Wigan
After dark days and fears for the future, Wigan can see the light once more, says manager Shaun Maloney
