Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
I'm feeling optimistic for the next match. Sheffield have had an incredible season so far but it's time for the Clarets to shine.

Burnley 5 Sheffield United 4.
The two teams throw caution to the wind, producing a scintillating display of attacking football. Not to be missed.

We aren't likely to score more than 1. So Clarets to win 1-0 again.

1-0 will do very nicely for the resurgent ''Mighty' Clarets

The blades going through a sticky patch, their boat has sailed I think for this season.
3-1 if a forward returns, else 1-0 to us.

Blades are on verge of imploding ,if we have Jay and Cork back we’ll beat em but if we have neither it will be a fight to the death to get anything at all

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
OK, our lads have had a bit of a rest, but it's still asking a lot for 11 or 12 players to win a third game on the trot against a team that will probably have five first team subs available.
Maybe our bench will be a little stronger than it has been recently, but it won't be by much and if Corky is missing, probably not at all.
1-1 if we're lucky.

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
I think Wilder will be pushing them for a strong finish, 1 all draw.

Put us down for a score draw in last two, and we've played well - hopefully few bodies back so I'm going for 2-0 Burnley.

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
I'd like to think we can get a win especially
if we can get one or two back.
So I'm going for 1-0, Vydra to score.
That'll be 7 wins 3 draws and one defeat in the last 11 games if not mistaken.
If we can manage a win then, with 5 games to go
we'll still be in there with a chance of a top 7 position and possibly Everton.
Competing with Arsenal, and possibly Everton for a Europa place.
Who would have thought that back in January!

Early start will mean sleepy heads
1-1, and to be fair I'd have been delighted with that ( and 7 points ) before the restart.

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
Given everyone predicted losses against Watford and Palace, it's worrying so many are predicting a win against the Blades!!
I'm withholding judgement until I've seen how they play tonight and heard from Dyche on the injury situation. Think the tiredness will eventually catch up with us regardless of the extra rest if we're forced to play the same team without a subs bench!

After the disgraceful performance at their place I’m hoping we’ve done our homework this time and are prepared to make changes on the fly if needed.
We’re on a roll. Always a Burnley win for me, but above I like to see a good solid performance.
A late goal to see is win 1-0. Brownhill rocket into the top corner.

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
I didn't i predicted two 1-1 draws, so i'll go for another 1-1, neither teams exactly prolific, and both have strong defences, so i wouldn't expect a free flowing goalfest. Yes our squad is stretched, but hopefully the extra few days of preparation works in our favour, plus a couple of bodies back to bolster the bench at least.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 1:11 pmGiven everyone predicted losses against Watford and Palace, it's worrying so many are predicting a win against the Blades!!

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
Agree that 1st half at Bramall Lane, and the 1st half against Villa, are our worst of the season by a long way.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:33 pmI'll predict we'll be better than we were at their place, as we couldn't be any worse.
However Sean seems to have got the lads going again, and we've got the carrot of Europe still being dangled, if that doesn't motivate them, then nothing will. It's a quick turnaround for the Blades, they only have 2 days to prepare for the game against us, and will surely face a tough test tonight. If their not 100% on it on Sunday, then we need to be ready to take advantage.

Quite a few wrote Sheff Utd off earlier
I must admit I didn’t see 3 goals in them but it’s going to be a bloody tough game Sunday, I’d take 0v0 to keep our run going. Hopefully snatch a 1v0

I think that we could win this one. But I don't really want us to go into a European competition unless we can bring another four or five decent first team players into the squad.

Sheffield Utd are a seriously good, well drilled team. Proof that money doesn't totally dictate in the PL. You've got to admire them and Wilder.
If they are on their best form they will batter us. (So my 1-0 prediction is in jeopardy )

Brownhill will have to sort out his shooting boots then. I think he's had them on them on the wrong feet up to now.ClaretEngineer wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 2:36 pmAfter the disgraceful performance at their place I’m hoping we’ve done our homework this time and are prepared to make changes on the fly if needed.

Re: Burnley v Sheffield predictions?
Lawro and his guest Simon Neil are both going for a Burnley win. I'm really not so sure. As I said earlier, even after a weeks rest, it's asking a lot for basically the same eleven players to win three on the trot, when the opposition will have five first team subs available to them.
Of course, I'll be delighted if they do. Certainly, in the mood they seem to be in at the moment, they have a chance, but Sheff Utd are a bit better than Watford or C. Palace.
Still say 1-1 but 0-0 would be better for Popey.
