John Swift
A good couple of seasons in a poor Reading side
Leeds and Sheffield Utd are after this playmaker midfielder.
As I have mentioned before hes a class passer and good free kick taker
At £3.5m a bargain. Maybe our much maligned Mr.Rigg has him on the radar.Imo a good addition for the sort of price we like to pay

Re: John Swift
Always been impressed by him, although he would likely have to adapt positions to one of our inside wide men in the 4-4-2.
Where have you seen the £3.5m figure from?

I would think most FL clubs are in the market to sell in the current climate. I can see a raid on Brentford if they dont go upWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 7:10 amFAO Rvclaret

Re: John Swift
I'll be surprised if he goes for £3.5m, if either of the Yorkshire clubs get him for that it'll be a steal. You would hope that we're actively looking to poach some talent from the hard up Championship clubs in this window, if we can't find a bargain or two in the current climate then we never will.

Re: John Swift
The French clubs transitioned players in their mini window and are happily continuing to player trade beyond it. Free transfers are being snapped up left right and centre. Big moves are being made for players like Sane, while little moves are being initiated for players like Swift.
Something needs to be done about all of these clubs. Don't they understand that transfer business can't be done until after the English window has officially opened and we are nearing the end of it.
Where is all the fumbling, the reactive wait and see what the market does dynamic or the misguided idea that patience is a financial virtue. If this madness isn't nipped in the bud very quickly a lot of clubs might end up doing a large chunk of their business before the window even opens.

Re: John Swift
Its vital we are in the mix re new players

Re: John Swift
Just watched an 8 minute highlights video so now I’m an expert! Certainly good feet/turn, often plays it simple, decent shot. Whether he’d look as impressive in the Prem where the pace is so much quicker would be my question.
We need numbers in midfield though - looks a steal if the reported £3.5m fee is true.
