Personally It hasn’t bothered me at all and I can’t see myself going in a pub this side of Christmas. I can’t think of anything worse than going to one this weekend.

I think the weather will keep a lot at home, supposed to chuck it down this weekend.

Nah. I think 1-2 of the locals are opening, but the sports/social club isn't, so will decide again when they open, which I don't think will be for 2-3 weeks.

As much as I would love to go for a pint out and a pub meal I will wait a little longer and see how things settle in the near future.But I wish any pub opening the greatest of luck and I feel it will be safer to visit than supermarkets with all restrictions put in place

Not achance until the uk is declared virus free or there is an effective vaccine. I I haven't come this far to blow my health for a hand pulled pint.

I think there's a difference between leaving the house and going into a pub where there are people you don't know, and you have no idea whether or not they have been observing Covid protocols. Not for me. Not for a while yet.

I will wait until the weather is better and can sit outside in the sunshine.

Depends where you go..... If you pick which pub to go in iam sure they will be as safe, if not safer than shops, hairdressers, supermarkets, bingo halls etc, where the people you're concerned about, also visit.
The bigger risk is people being able to visit other houses, once that front door is shut, they'll all be hugging, sharing food utensils, no social distancing etc etc.

Absolutely not, best to avoid the d-heads for a few weeks until it calms down.

That does it for us too! It's a bit like first day of the January Sales! WHY THE FLOCK would you bother? Stay safe. Let the others risk it if they like. We're all going to go one day. Why accelerate the process unnecessarily?

Not in this weather no. One of our locals The Queens has been open a while now when the weather is good and it has been nice to have a stroll down and sit out in the sun having a couple.

The footy and horse racing while sat in the dry indoors appeals more for tomorrow so a day to be at home.

Not a chance.

Firstly, will wait 4 to 5 weeks to ascertain what risk has emerged in rising infection rates.

Will wait to hear from the experience of others who have ventured into our usual pub.

Will stick to a bottle of wine or two.

With the amount of people still furloughed I honestly don't think it matters when they reopen the pubs.

I’ve booked my favourite Italian tomorrow for my daughter birthday and I’ll be meeting a good friend for a few pints in the afternoon. I’m somebody that visits the local village pubs for a few hours every weekend usually, so it will be nice to call back in, I’ve missed my routine! Particularly 4-6 on a Friday and 4-6 on a Sunday

Dithering a bit tbh.

Really want to get back to supporting my local in these difficult times and I know they take safety precautions seriously and will do all they can to keep their staff and customers as safe as possible.

On the other hand, the virus risk hasn't completely gone away and I'm sure it will be busy especially with the younger crowd (18-30) so part of me is also thinking it might be better to hang on for a while longer and see how things pan out.

Aren't some of the responses on this thread a bit , well, OTT in terms of fear ? I was reading its the case that around one in 2,200 people have the virus and there is a fatality rate of around 2%. So if I go to the pub and there are 22 other people there I have a 1% chance of one of them having the virus. I'll be distancing from them though so much lower than 1% chance of catching it ...lets say 0.25% chance though, meaning then that I have a 0.005% chance of dying from my visit to the pub. I think that means I would have to go to the pub typically 20,000 times under current conditions to die. I was only planning to go once or twice a week to try and help keep it open !

I can see people in the main respecting the queuing and social distancing at the start of the day, but later into the evening and night, as the booze takes a hold, I really can foresee big problems with that.

Some pubs might be a free for all.
The Old Bill will have their work cut out.

A few pubs I know of have actually put openenig on hold, definitely until after the weekend. Thatch and Thistle in Nelson and Hollywood Star at the cinema in burnley.

Who's hiding? I'm not. There's is a difference between getting on with life and putting yourself at risk unnecessarily. I'll re visit my local pubs / clubs when I know a bit more about how it affects the virus spread.

Can't remember the last time I went to the pub for a social drink. Must be three years ago with the Missus when we were in town. Last time I went in a pub was about a year ago. Training for two weeks in town and the pub was next door so went in for a jar to chill. Could easily have waited 'til I got home and got some tins from the off-licence.
I get some people like the social aspect of it but I only go to the pub for a pint after a hard day usually.

The first two you mention have far more risk than a visit to a well run pub

I don't go the pub that often these days but I have never got into drinking at home. Nothing social in that at all for me

I won't be drinking inside a pub. I think it's too early to open pubs up that don't have a beer garden. It's ok for people to say it's similar to going into a shop, but yet to going into a Next or somewhere and sit down chatting for two, three hours or more. Also, any social-distancing will go out of the window after a couple of pints. Good luck to the landlords and bar staff who are charge with 'policing' the social-distancing. Many won't even bother trying and I dare say it's a near impossible task.

Also, I knew a 48 year old who died of coronavirus without having any underlying health issues. No way I'm placing myself or my loved ones in harms way for the sake of a few pints inside a pub.
