Vydra and J Rod to start then. McNeil in cm and Pieters left mid again?

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
That's my thoughts, Jay in and potentially JBG as well if Dyche wants to risk him.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
Pieters was the revelation on Monday, he could certainly do a job in midfield, and his defensive nous doesn't do us any harm.
Best guess how we'll line up
Pope
Bardsley Tarks Mee Taylor
Brownhill Westwood McNeil Pieters
Jay Vydra
Whatever there's few options for Sean to choose from, hence his frustration, this is where Hendrick is a notable miss, but we can't do much about that just now, so we'll have to soldier on with what we've got, what we do have is a team pulling out all the stops, and playing with spirit, and at times some skill.

Meanwhile Chris Wilder - hands out some toffee (in the Bob Paisley sense) and stirs the pot at the end

If people like JBG, Brady and Wood are on the bench, this is a great time to give them at least 15 mins game time and get them back into the swing of playing again.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
I think Chris Wilder's admiration is genuine enough and comment at the end realistic in context.

Good news.
Though if Pieters is in the same position again I won't mind.
He'd a storming game.

I sometimes find Sean hard to listen to but, Christ, I couldn't watch Mr.Wilder week after week.

I like Chris Wilder, speaks a lot of sense and the comments at the end are almost certainly Dyche approved.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
I'm still not sure if I like Chris Wilder or not.
Seems a little bit odd to me, can't work him out.
Not that he'll give a toss

Wilder is a top manager, doesn't take any ****, tells it like it is - give me that over a Wenger or Mourinhio any day of the week

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
Comments at the end are very clever. Big up his mate whilst stating the obvious and adding more wood on the fire of Dyche needing to go to a bigger club.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
Players coming back in the nick of time. With Arsenal having Wolves away then Spurs to come, a 7th or 8th place finish isn’t out of the question, many of the sides around us play each other, so 4 wins could be enough, certainly 5 (I’m not counting on anything at Anfield). Many other sides we are due to play will be on the beach with no fans and nothing to play for.
Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
I wonder how much the bonuses would cost the club if we did reach a Europa League spot

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
No one outside the club knows if we actually made money from the last time - we got £800k in prize money but nothing is known beyond that, though matchday Income was up that season by a roughly similar amount. The TV income was impossible to decipher.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 4:18 pmHopefully less than the benefit of being involved in it.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
The crunch games are Sunday, and the Wolves game, win both of those , and we've every chance of European footy, you'd hope we'd pick up points against West Ham, Norwich & Brighton, we've already shown this season that we're more than capable of amassing wins against the lower sides, so no reason why that should stop in the run-in. I did post the fixtures in another thread, and there's several 6 pointers amongst the teams jostling for the European places, so if we can put 10-12 points on in these final 6 games, we've every chance of finishing 8th minimum, i wouldn't even discount us out of finishing 7th, we're only 2 points shy of Sheff Utd, and Arsenal and Tottenham aren't exactly models of consistency.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 3:52 pmPlayers coming back in the nick of time. Next 4 games will be very tough, think some people are getting a bit carried away.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
So that's a doubt, a maybe, a being assessed and a could be involved. Sounds like nobody will be starting from that lot then.
Put them all on the bench. At least the opposition might think we have good players to bring on.

Our home record against everyone bar the big 6 is superb.
Get em smashed.
Alright one nil will do.

Re: ARTICLE: Dyche set for selection boost
Thought for a moment, the chairman had given him a vote of confidence, should he put himself on the bench!
