Junior Stanislas

Post by ewanrob » Sat Jul 04, 2020 3:26 pm

Just heard hes scored against Manu, would you resign him if Bournmouth went down. I think he would be a decent signing and wouldn't require a big fee you'd think.

Possibly, but he's the wrong side of 30, and he's only been a bit-part player in a struggling Bournemouth side, he's into the final 12 months of his contract, so if we could get him for a nominal fee, i might be interested, but i'm not sure SD would be.

I know he’s been injured but in six years at Bournemouth he has only started just over 70 league games for them.

A definite no from me.

But with double the goals of JBG and Brady combined who have started more premier league games than him.

Junior often turned up strongly for big games but disappeared if he didn't fancy it.

The rollicking Dyche gave him for not running is the loudest I've ever heard from Dyche. He doesn't make a point of touchline criticism but Junior got all barrels and deservedly so.

Two players our fans complain about not being available enough so if they play more than Stanislas you have your answer while I don’t judge this type of player on the number of goals they score.

Totally agree with Rowls about him being up for some games and not others.

This United game is the most open game you could ever see.
It's 5-2 but should be 10-6 and it still might be.

Don’t dispute we need someone who plays more than they do. But I’ve could do worse than having jbg and Stanislas rotating.

Had one great season for Bouremouth but seems to have struggled in form and injuries. Nice lad but would be a backward move. If we got another wide man he needs to be more direct than what we have. If WHU went down then Antonio would be worth going for-very direct can play wide and very physical and has played for several northern clubs

As a player, I like Stanlilas. He’s a better player, when on form, than Brady and JBG.

If you could guarantee his fitness and commitment, it’d be a no brainier.

As neither of those can be guaranteed, it would have to be a no.

Well he got offered a contract so it wasn't the end of the road in that sense. I suspect the contract offer was a "teaser" intended to keep him hungry and that he got more from Bournemouth.

He is one of the most talented ballplayers I've ever seen for Burnley. Superemely talented. He just doesn't have the level of fight that many others possess.

Looking at today's results in the Championship we should be looking at the likes of Meite from Reading or Benrahma from Brentford.

We need some younger players. We have plenty of experience.

Nope! Bournemouth was a really good fit for him and as a result he has had a better career than I ever thought he would. Good player, nice lad, but just not right for us. With him in our midfield we would be regularly overwhelmed

Premier league post Burnley. 95 games 17 goals. Thats definitely an improvement.

A quick browse of the stats of all 3 players on the PL site would suggest there isn't much in it really in regards to quality /contributions etc.

You prefer him because that's your choice, but if we are in the market for a new winger then we do need better than him and the other 2, no point going out to buy the same sort of player because we'd just be standing still.

That puts him just in front of our two regular sicknotes. Useful.
We need some young, hungry performers, I think we'll see this in Brownhill for starters.
