Pope 7 - couldn’t do anything about the goal and did alright. Good save first minute.
Bardsley 6 - Not bad offers nothing going forwards though.
Tarkowski 7 - good goal and good performance.
Long 5 - poor on occasions.
Taylor 6 - great defensively and made some good runs but lost the ball too often.
Pieters 5 - poor overall but completely out of position can’t blame him he’s a back up left back!!!
Westwood 6 - did alright but wasn’t quite as busy as he often is.
Brownhill 8 - great performance again from him. He got on the ball and passed well but the best thing is his quick turn of pace to nip in and win the ball. I like him a lot.
McNeil 6 - Wasn’t his best performance especially from the right wing where he can be good curing in and shooting but we didn’t have the ball in their 3rd enough for him to be at his best. Unlucky with the finish, hope it doesn’t hurt his confidence. Did whip in some evil balls.
Jay 6 - good strike but he didn’t get involved like he can because of our lack of possession high up the pitch.
Vydra 6 - makes great runs but we only found him once and he couldn’t finish. Unfortunate because it was a great move and Vydra deserves a goal for his effort recently.

Wood 6 - hopefully he’s back soon he caused some panic in their defence when he came on.

Pope 6 average game really, no real saves of note
Bardsley 7
Tarkowski 8 MOM great finish
Long 5 very rusty and limitations showed
Taylor 5 have the ball away quite a lot

Brownhill 7 he was everywhere best of the midfield looks a player.
Westwood 6
MacNeil 5 no threat, quiet first half, cost us 2 points with an unforgivable miss
Pieters 6

Rodriguez 7
Vydra 6

Wood 6

Just a mention to the apparent future England number 1 Henderson, thought he was very poor and he patted to 25 yard efforts right back into the danger zone which should have led to goals.

Our longest rest we've had and we looked tired and sloppy, I put it down to the re shuffle and the amount of partnerships broken.
Another point on the board, but a game to forget really.

Pope 7-was quick off his line a few times. No chance with goal
Bardsly 7-did some great defending work but forward distribution was lacking at times
Tarkowski 8 MOM commanding performance against a very direct team
Long 6-his inexperience shows. Mee a lot more streetwise and reads play well, but did his job
Taylor 6. Thought he had a poor second half
McNeil-not effective on the right, and will not get an easier chance. This is where Wood would bury it
Westwood 7-had to step up today and did pretty well
Brownhill-covered a lot of ground and did a lot of defensive work.Likes doing the easy things. I think I prefer him wide right with Bardsley
Pieters 6. I know he filled in and made a great chance for Vydra, but playing where he does wide left is a compromise, and lessens McNeils contribution. Hopefully either Jack is fit next game or we start with JBG
Rodriguez 7. Great couple of shots and was our main threat-never gave up, hopefully wood starts nbext game with him.
Vydra 6. Couple of sitters missed. He did chase a lot but how many chances has he now missed in the last 3 games (forgetting the City one)

A typical Burnley side would have got all 3 points today, in the end a well earned point. We are a bit naive to opponents short corners -which is where their goal came from. It happened v City on a couple of occasions-hopefully coaches and SD will pick upon this

Indeed they were, particularly disappointed by McNeil's. I felt it was a solid performance against equally solid and committed opponents, both sides missing their chances to win it.

If McNeil chance goes in (which it should have ) its game over. For all their posession they didn’t look like scoring many. I can see why some teams find Sheff Utd hard to play against though.

Not a great game imo but great game and finish by Tarkowski

A strange game really that Sheffield United controlled, but yet we scored the same number of goals as them and missed two glorious chances that really should have been buried. I thought Josh Brownhill was excellent in the middle. I can see that he's going to very quickly become one of SD's most trusted servants.

Thought we did really well to get a point today. Very impressed with Sheff Utd. Lots of big mobile units who are decent footballers too. McGoldrick has done really well to reinvent himself in the role he played today. Always available and able to play the incisive ball to get attacks moving. We defended well but if you get enough balls into the box, which they did, then there is always the chance that you will create an opening. Shame about the missed chances but a win would have flattered us. That is not a criticism as with such a patched up side we did well to compete with a top half team, who were not as depleted as us.

So you think they were fit enough to play? I think having them on the bench was the best we could hope for.

I think Tony's called it there. We've got another game on Wednesday. I think today was about getting JBG and RB back in the groove.

No argument with the score, a fair result although we missed the best two chances. That said quite entertaining in what must have been very trying conditions.

Pope 7-Looking back to his competent best.
Bardsley 7-Solid and dependable as always.
Tarkowski 8*-Our best player although I though he was partly culpable for their equaliser
Long 7-Slotted in well especially considering his lack of first team action.
Taylor 6-Still not firing on all cylinders, very indifferent since the restart.
McNeil 6-No great influence on the game bar his glaring miss that cost us 2 points. Personally I'd like to see him in the No10 role
Brownhill 7-Might not be Corky yet, but he played well, and looks a very promising prospect.
Westwood 7-Think he missed his sparing partner at times.
Pieters 7-Think he's slotted in well and got through a lot of work.
Rodriguez 7-Looked sharp and linked up well.
Vydra 6-Glaring miss and I think this affected the rest of his performance.

Wood 5-Didn't affect the game but at least he's got a few minutes under his belt. If fit I'd certainly start him with Jay Rod at WHU.

Out of 8 unused subs, none are fit or good enough to come on for 10 mins. Things are a lot worse than I thought.

Didn’t have the tempo from the last two games. I’m sure there is no desire off the pitch to qualify for Europe (probably some on the pitch), so I doubt much sleep will be lost.

Very odd that Brady and JBG didn’t come on when we were chasing the game. If they aren’t fit, don’t bench them. Very odd indeed given our lack of creativity.

We missed Mee terribly, but only because Long is way, way short of being a quality Premier League player. He was caught out in the opening minutes (they should have scored), gave away a needless foul on the edge of our box, was ball watching for their goal, and made several others errors in a performance full of heart and low on quality. Not Long’s fault - but Dyche never gets asked the question when he moans about resources how he managed to have a £15m defender on what is in essence gardening leave? A massive balls up that one, and it pretty much guarantees our mid table finish.

Pope 7-solid
Bardsley 7-solid
Tarks 8-would have been a 9, but he switched off for their goal.
Long 6-he puts his heart and soul into every chance he gets, but he's not the long-term fix if Ben's out.
Taylor 6-didn't influence the play like he normally can
Mcneil 5-got to drop him a point for that miss
Brownhill 7-looks like he can make the step up from the Champ, good signing for the fee we paid.l
Westwood 6-battled hard but he looks in need of a rest, of course there's no chance of him getting one.
Pieters 6-does a job for the team no matter where he's asked to play, hope his injuries not too bad.
Rodriguez 8-busy and tried to feed on scraps, building an understanding with Vydra, and on another day both could have bagged.
Vydra 7- made some intelligent runs, and offered us the option to play in the channels, but he had to score that glorious chance, the good news is he's getting into the right areas, but he needs to be more clinical to nail down a starting berth.

Wood 6- as you'd expect he looked rusty, but it's great to see him back available again, he's our most natural finisher.

Decent point in the circumstances, and on that showing you can see why Sheff Utd are flying high, they played some good stuff, and they showed character to battle back, if you were to criticise both teams, they each lacked a cutting edge, and missed some presentable chances.

On the Pope-Henderson head to head, neither had a huge amount to do, and apart from Henderson pushing out Bardsley's attempt, which Jay could have pounced upon, neither did much wrong, so just like the game i'd rate that a stalemate.

Refreshing to see a good old-fashioned tussle without a single booking, or the play-acting which spoils the modern game.
