The team virtually picks itself, assuming Pieters is out. Only real decision is Wood or Vydra upfront.

I would be playing 451 away from home and try and get McNeil on the ball like the first half at Palace.
Get JBG in then go 442 for the last half hour if we're still in the with a shout.

Hopefully he plays some part in the game, he's scored in all our last 5 games against them. Even got two in the 3-0 "riot" game.
Get him on there, that'll make 'em panic.

Vydra starting is an obvious one. Of course he starts.

Vydra has been doing everything right but scoring. I feel he has been patient and deserves to be backed, especially as we are in no danger of going down. Give the lad a post lockdown goal and hopefully more will come.

Anybody who would start Wood in place of Vydra needs another 3 months off.

They'll both get a share to minimise fatigue

Give all the kids a game at Anfield.

No point risking injury there.

Pope
Bardsley Long Tarkowski Taylor
JBG Brownhill Westwood Jay Rod
McNeil
Vydra

That is with Jay Rod drifting inside quite frequently to support Vydra.

Gets McNeil on the ball more frequently and as we saw at Palace is a real influence. Doesn't stop him drifting out to the left as Jay comes inside.

Ideally he would play, Hammers are dangerous at set pieces so he would be a great help defensively too. Can't see it though

we want to see if they can compete in the league - most teams can't with the likes of Liverpool so we wouldn't learn anything. Norwich away might be good for Benson to get some time

Tempted to go with this. West Ham are more open than Sheff Utd and Palace. Would like to see JBG and Wood to get some game time. Thought McNeil looked leggy on Sunday but he's our only real creative outlet from the starting XI versus Sheff Utd.

JBG in for Pieters. Maybe Wood for Vydra given his record against West Ham (if he’s ready).

Maybe so, but we won't win there with are best 11.

It's just a game where we could pick up more injuries to an already threadbare and very tired squad.

Risk for no reward.

Not mentioned in SD's post-match interview on Clarets Player so I'd guess he's OK.

No way will Wood start though I’d expect both him and JBG to get pitch time based off how we’re performing . The starting XI will surely be the one from Sunday ?
