BT are continuously the most difficult company to deal with of all those who have had Premier League football.

No, in terms of to deal with. They are the only company not offering any free to air. When supporters organisations nationally have tried to have dialogue with the TV companies they have continued to be the most reluctant.

I wasn't sure, Perhaps that was just an advisory then - makes sense not to if you ask me... I wouldn't risk it if proper measures were not in place.

Hi Nighty - I wasn't asking for myself, was asking for a fellow Accy Claret. I recently renegotiated my Sky package and got BT thrown in for free! :D

Perhaps a game for free like Sky arranged with NowTV for season ticket holders... but no, BT are chasing the money aren’t they... :?

As it happens I’ve not needed to use the nowTV codes as they’ve been free to air anyway. BT will never get my business and I will seek the game elsewhere

I agree that BT have been the worst of the live game providers in not offering free games or even the option for day passes (maybe technology doesn't permit this). I subscribe to Sky Sports so my legal option to get BT through my Sky TV box is to subscribe to the BT sport channels for £25 per month on a 31 day rolling contract. £25 for the 2 games is pretty reasonable compared with what I'd have spent on the days out travelling to these games. I just hope I can cancel without having to hang on a phone to BT for half the day!

Exactly what I’ve done - the £25 would have been the cost of my ticket at Liverpool.

If you are an EE customer then you might have three months free BT Sport included as an add-on (£15.99/mth thereafter). I've just set my account up to watch the game.

I have always found the customer service to be prompt and very good. I think they use UK call centres going by the accents of the operators. I haven't had cause to contact them during the pandemic though.

I have never had any problems with the internet mysteriously disconnecting itself with BT unlike other ISP's I have used in the past. I pay £7.50 per month for BT Sport. I don't bother with BT TV. I watch the sport through an app which is held on a mini computer plugged into the back of my TV.

BT are being a bit tight fisted with the pandemic matches. They have also suspended dividend payments to their shareholders until 2022. They could have granted season ticket holders a free pass with link to download the app. It might also have drummed up a bit of future business for them.

When things return to normal I expect all the football services will revert back to pay only. Having to subscribe to Sky, Amazon and BT as well as purchase a season ticket is getting a bit much for football fans like me. I currently have BT Sport because I get a cheap subscription and I have Prime because I tend to purchase a lot of parcels. I watch Sky Burnley games by purchasing a Now TV day pass (when necessary) but now that has gone up to £9.99.

I won't be renewing BT Sports at the end of the contract. I am not paying £9.99 for a Now TV day pass in the future. I am also thinking about not renewing my season ticket this time. I think that I will be one of the first to gradually start drifting away from football.

You're very lucky to get a UK call centre from a call to BT, I think they're the 'second level' solution.

I called to complain about not showing any games for free (like every other provider), and for not offering any kind of reduction for the whole of the lockdown period when there was no sport to watch.

It really shouldn't have to be like this, but my monthly broadband/BT sport bill has now been halved.

The club are offering Now TV passes for ST holders.

From what I can gather you can watch BT sports on the day passes.

The offer expired in June and you can’t get BT Sport as part of the day pass...

You had my hopes up then...

The club have put it on social media tonight. My guess is they have loads left over.

Online searches produced contradictory info.
Maybe someone who uses it can advise?

Fair enough about the offer from the club - must have relaunched the offer since I posted the link on the forum on Sunday when asked about links for the game.

The image I posted was from the NowTV support page, nothing contradictory about what is states

“ The BT Sport subscription will not be included in any NOW TV Passes.”

I think that you get this with a lot of companies now. They increase the price at the renewal and then you have to ring them and haggle. Often the price increases at the renewal or end of contract are very high. I often start the conversation by saying that I would like to cancel. When they ask why I say something like "because the price has gone up by 30% since last year". I keep insisting that I want to cancel. Eventually they put you through to someone else who reduces the price.

I haven't had cause to ring BT during the pandemic. I have noticed on their website that they are saying that there may be delays for people contacting them by phone.

Have Sky made all their games free to air? I thought BT and Sky were going to show their original lot of TV games on their pay channels and then any additional freebies or ones Sky picked up cheaper above that were going to be the free ones.

I assume Sky have maybe gone further than BT and are showing less games (or maybe none?) on free to air that was in their original 19/20 package?

I think Sky do have 20 scheduled in total for free to air. Prime said straight away that they would do the same with their four but BT never made any offer at all, not even with the extra games.

I think that you can purchase the 'BT Sport Subscription' to watch on the App without being a BT customer for £25
https://www.bt.com/sport/monthly-pass

You can purchase BT Sport through Sky or Talk Talk at £29.99 per month.

It's all confusing. I pay £7.50 per month as a BT broadband user. It's currently being advertised at £15 permonth for BT customers. Talk Talk and Sky are charging £29.99.

https://www.bt.com/sport/sky
https://www.bt.com/sport/buy/talk-talk

The coverage of matches is good but, for the amount of time I watch it, I think it offers poor value for money at £7.50p/m.

For the comparison with Sky it should be how many of the games they paid for at the start of the season are they now showing for free because that will be where they have shown themselves to be better than BT.

If Sky are still showing all their original quota of games on the pay channel just like BT and they are only showing the extra ones free then I dont see the difference (unless BT have got extra games and are still charging for them).

BT have been given extra games - one is very definitely tonight's game at West Ham which was not scheduled to be televised. Saturday's game at Liverpool had already been scheduled by BT. Sky are definitely showing all the extra games free, not sure if they've added any more, and they've offered the NOW TV passes to season ticket holders at all clubs. BT have offered absolutely nothing.

Just checked my EE add on for BT, as I’ve used the 3 months free I can pay £15/month to get BT Sport for the big screen using the app... wish I’d checked earlier - takes 24 hours to activate...

Is it not already activated or do you have to re-activate after 3 months? Might be worth checking.

they are indeed, I have BT, and was unable to access the german football recently even though it should have been available.
The trouble I had getting them to acknowledge their error was ridiculous. Passsed from pillar to post, endless calls ans online malarky. finally got it sorted but they were terrible to deal with.

Maybe they will eventually get pushed out by Amazon or some other company. That's if Amazon think it will be profitable. I think this season has been a bit of a test to find out. Also Amazon seem to like to broadcast several games at the same time.

If Amazon manage to get a contract to do this regularly it could change the way in which many fans watch football. The pandemic, with the possibility of empty ground viewing next season, might also speed this process up.
