White tonight at West Ham
The Premier League have refused to allow us to play in any of our three shirts tonight. Obviously we couldn't play in claret & blue or the sky blue but they've said no to the green kit too, although it was allowed at Aston Villa earlier in the season.
So we will be playing in this one off shirt.

Ha ha - seems daft to me when we've already played in that green at Villa ParkSutton-Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 10:11 amMakes it easier for the people who watch in black and white to distinguish the players..

I have a cost cutting idea..... reversible tops that can be worn inside out... like we used to do as kids
Re: White tonight at West Ham
Seems a bit daft our away shirt clashes with Claret and Blue. Why on earth would the away kit be the same colours as the home one?

New Newcastle kits for next season announced:
Home kit is their classic black with white stripes. Naturally.
The away kit will be, to contrast, white with black stripes.

Re: White tonight at West Ham
Dave Baldwin always said he never wanted more than two kits (he failed to win that argument in the end) but at West Ham in 2016/17 we had to find a third kit. All we did was wear the previous season's yellow away kit. But to have three and not be able to wear any of them is ridiculous although there is no sensible reason for not being able to wear that green shirt.

I too don’t see why the green one is no good. That just got be thinking how daft it seems to have the same colours on 2 shirts.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 10:27 amDave Baldwin always said he never wanted more than two kits (he failed to win that argument in the end) but at West Ham in 2016/17 we had to find a third kit. We should fluorescent pink and orange quarters for next years away. No messing about.

Re: White tonight at West Ham
I’m massively colour blind but had no issue with the green kit at Villa. I thought I’d struggle in the Arsenal and Southampton games but again no problems. As Claret Tony says, tonight will be nothing to do with helping those of us who are colourblind or as a direct result of complaints from the Liverpool v Villa game (I struggled watching that) as kit choices have to be submitted quite a bit of time in advance before each fixture.
All quite strange.

Do we know why we’re not allowed to play in the green?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 10:09 amThe Premier League have refused to allow us to play in any of our three shirts tonight. Re: White tonight at West Ham
In this new world of people not being coloured but black or of colour, It is not colour blind now but colour deficient.
For most it is difficulty between red/green so that red and green look a shade of pale yellow. First spotted in my eldest when playing snooker as a child he potted the brown claiming it was a red.
Blue yellow problems are less common and affect the sexes equally but red green is mainly male and about 8% of male population.
The genetics mean a colour blind (deficient) male will pass the trait to all his daughters who will have normal colour vision but statistically half their sons will be colour deficient unless her partner is also red green deficient when half the sons will still have it but half the daughters will be normal but carriers and half the daughters will be deficient too.
All my sons are red green deficient meaning they all received the same x chromosome from their mother and that x chromosome came from their maternal grandfather who too was colour deficient

If it was that big a deal that we couldn’t wear any of our 3 official kits, why couldn’t we have worn the white training tops that we have?

I have read there are spectacles that help with red green colour deficiency Burnmark-are you aware and have you tried?burnmark wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 10:34 amI’m massively colour blind but had no issue with the green kit at Villa. As at 31st March 2019, there were 6,883 Black & White TV Licenses still in force ..... I suspect mainly in Yorkshire & Scotland !Sutton-Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 10:11 amMakes it easier for the people who watch in black and white to distinguish the players..

I believe the seats are mainly white at the city of London stadium, could hinder our boys spotting each other, wearing white with a white backdrop is far from ideal IMO.LoveCurryPies wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 11:44 amWhite is more visible than dark colours and will make the players will stand out. Re: White tonight at West Ham
Do the premier League/ FA not check before the season starts that teams have kits you can use against all teams? Otherwise, apart from money, why have a second/ third/ fourth kit if they still clash?
Still don't understand why they can seem green kit an issue, or any difference to villa. Very odd
