Legs, Hearts and Minds
What a performance. And these games post lockdown (in fact post Chelsea) epitomise that Dyche Mantra.
Nick Pope was absolutely outstanding tonight. One of the best goalkeeping performances in a long time. But to keep another cleansheet. To get another win. With that patched up side is incredible.
5 subs per game now allowed. We have used 6 in all 5 games!
To turn in these performances after the dreadful night at Man city with this injury hit squad is brilliant.
Just a shame the players arent able to play in front of the fans. They deserve a massive backing!

Every one of them worked their socks off. Word for Pieters too. Looks so composed in midfield.

Every one of the players. management and staff have worked so hard and earned their money in getting results without any inspiration from a crowd.
SD has them well motivated and everyone deserves credit for just doing their job!

Re: Legs, Hearts and Minds
Pieters did a pretty poor job when we tasked him with playing as a forward surging wing back in the beginning part of the season. Our defence was truly shocking in that initial time frame and we were displaying relegation form. Given our standard of play in recent games it is hard to think back and remember how bad we looked. We conceded an average of 2.1 goals per 90 with him in that position and only 0.9 goals per 90 when Taylor replaced him.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 8:00 pmEvery one of them worked their socks off. Pieters is a very good player who still has a lot to offer ( if we can find a role that suits his qualities ), but he isn't an EPL calibre wing back. Our recruitment got it wrong if they thought he was.
However, his character has been first rate and over the last few games his performances ( out of position in midfield ) have been excellent. A true testament to his desire to do his best for us and his overall playing ability. He has definitely earned his corn in the last three matches. I'm not sure where he fits in going forwards, but he definitely deserves praise for his quality contributions at a testing time.

Nothing to add. Hero’s. All of them (but particularly Pope).

The "KUMB" West Ham message board is full of comments about how their players were knackered and couldn't be expected to play so many games and no wonder they lost. Very few comments about how many games Burnley had played, strangely.

To get the results we’ve got with the players available since lockdown is nothing short of remarkable.
No other manager could do that with our group.

Keep the fans away and we could be safe after 20 games next season
