Pope 9 - claimed everything and made 2 or 3 great saves.
Bardsley 7 - solid.
Long 8 - solid and a great back up.
Tarks 8 - absolute rock.
Taylor 9 - awesome left back. Great balls into the box today.
Pieters 7 - does well enough wide right and offers as much going forward as Jeff would but we would look nicer on the eye with JBG back out there, even if it is just for 1 game.
Westwood 7 - solid performance gets around well couple of dodgy passes.
Brownhill 9 - absolutely class performance. Proper centre midfielder gets around the pitch, puts challenges in, links play well and very nearly was the key figure in a lovely team goal.
McNeil 8 - some moments of quality but we weren’t high enough up the pitch for him to show what he can really do.
Vydra 7 - got about well and held the ball at times. Makes great runs but we don’t find him enough.
Jay rod 8 - great header and links midfield and attack but was sloppy on occasions.

Wood 8 - looked really sharp today. Came on and dominated their defence, backing into centre backs before laying it off well. He has really improved his hold up play this season and today he won everything. Unfortunate with the offside goal and he did really well with the chance over the top where he beat a couple of men and forced a very good save.

Pope 9 just 1 fumble but otherwise in command
Bardsley 7 so glad we got him for another year
Long 7 had the odd poor moment but overall did well
Tarks 9 could have seen red but what a great player
Taylor 8. Perfect cross for the goal
Pieters 7 very impressive out of position. Clearly has a good football brain
Brownhill 9. This guy is looking like a future star. Pace to burn and never stops
McNeil 9 Already a star and linking up very well with Brownhill and Taylor
Westwood 8 worked so hard in his new deeper role
Vydra 6 A bit disappointing today. Looked a bit tired which is not surprising
JRod 7 got the winner even if it was off his shoulder. Still worth 3 points
Wood 7 looked stronger and just went a fraction early for the disallowed goal

If we can keep Pope Tarks Mee Taylor Brownhill McNeil and of course Dyche then the future is looking really exciting UTC

Good comments FCBurnley..however bit harsh on Wood whose upper body was only offside because he had to lean forward to see around the defender. Agree he looked much stronger tonight and thought he was excellent.

Fantastic. Fair comments from Moyes afterwards in saying it looked like we were scrapping at the bottom such was our defending. It’s all testament to our manager. I’m hesitant in advocating a spend spend spend approach or criticising our chairman, but wow do not lose this man. People may say no man is bigger than the club, but Dyche is the club and all that’s been good about it for the last 6 years as far as I’m concerned.

He’s sensible enough to know the boundaries but ambitious enough to expect a bit more. We must do everything to keep him.

Pope 9 MOM Commanded that area, eased so much pressure and a couple of vital top class saves

Bardsley 7 steady, should have had an assist too
Long 7 a few nervy moments when caught but did well
Tarkowski 9 immense
Taylor 8 seems to be more of a threat when him and McNeil are on the same side

Pieters 7 solid enough
Brownhill 8 excellent again, got caught a couple of times, but his bravery and forward thinking is excellent to see, will only get better
Westwood 7 solid
McNeil 8 like Brownhill, but looked like he was running on empty in the 2nd half

Rodriguez 8 great finish
Vydra 7 unlucky with a couple, looks absolutely shattered

Wood 7 caused problems

Another fantastic away performance, and great viewing from a defensive point of view, Joe Cole summarised it well by saying, you sometimes just have to sit back and admire what a well drilled well organised defensive display that was.

Pope 9 - He was excellent. So good for him to keep commanding catching and punching. It relieves the pressure on the defense - even if he occasionally drops a ball.
Bardsley 8 - Battled well all night - makes it so difficult for attackers
Long 8 - He's done really well with no match time this season - a great physical presence and commanding header
Tarkowski 9 - Captain Fantastic led superbly - some great blocks without panicking
Taylor 9 - His best game since the restart - much better going forward and some tremendous defending.
Pieters 8 - another great effort out of position - could have scored
Brownhill 8 - He's settled in very well and has bought into the Burnley ethos - lost possession a couple of times, but battled for 96 mins
Westwood 8 - Does so much of the graft work - some great passing too
McNeil 7 - I think he's more of a threat out wide on the left. He played more centrally and ran into dead ends at times - to be fair the options in front of him were limited at times - a great talent
Rodriguez - 8 - he's such an intelligent footballer, great control and holding the ball up - lots of good runs and a quality finish - top signing great to have him back
Vydra 7 - works well with Rodriguez, but struggled with the physical WH defenders - looked tired, understandably

Wood 8 - he looked sharp, causing problems from coming on. Good shot and very unlucky with the goal. I'd start him against Liverpool (VVD) - Vydra to take over second half

Another excellent performance. We are so difficult to break down once we've gone in front, battling for our lives.
I fully understand Dyche not making changes, but I would like to see JBG get 10/15 mins. all we can do is keep winning and see where it takes us!

Didn't watch it but can't choose the right thread to comment.

When Tom made THAT save at Southampton from Charlie Austin's header - the best save I've seen by a Burnley keeper and close to Gordon Banks' save against Pele - the co-commentator on CP said "He had no right to save that".

Well, we have no right to have gleaned 10 points from our last four games. Some teams appear to be on the beach already whilst we are performing like it's Stalingrad.

Overall contribution of players to the team effort is something that you can't really quantify by giving individual marks to players. We defended well from the front yet again and every player did the job that he was expected to do and we got the result. Not one player let the team down, they each gave it their all and you can't do better than that at any level.

A forwards main job is to create and cause problems and not defend for 95 mins.

Please explain - you are one of a few thousand who love getting 11 men behind the ball and defend for 95 mins and hit teams on the break - (which we are not great at)

Not for me I would rather see us attack teams and I know its a depleted team but I can understand opposite fans hate watching Burnley play.

We are massively depleted and to a certain degree not playing for very much apart from pride (realistically). The same 11/12 players are churning out 90+ mins in the Premier League every 3 days or so.....and we are more than holding our own and picking up some great results. Can you just not be a little proud of your team instead?

Barring the Laws Relegation...( not his Fault) These past 10 / 11 years Have been the Best I've ever seen at Turf Moor and Away...so many positives. Proud to be connected with Proudsville. UTC!

See my marks and it was a great defensive performance nothing more
