Broadcasting question

With the Wolves game being live on the BBC, I was wondering when the last time the station broadcasted a league game 'live' from Turf Moor.

One for older fans, I'm guessing, or did it never happen because of Bob Lord's fallouts with the TV companies?

Off the top of my head. Arsenal at home (2008?) Fa cup and Liverpool home 2005 fa cup? Just guesses.

Edit. Sorry just seen you said league games.

But apart from Arsenal at home 2005 and Liverpool 2005 when have the BBC shown a live game from Turf Moor since Bob Lords fall out with the BBC

BURNLEY PRESTON 4-3?
I think that was televised, yes, but was more alluding to us in the top flight.

I mean you are kind of asking an impossible question. I wasn't around in the 70s but I guess games weren't commonly live on TV back then. Before then, the 50-60s even less so.

Since we have recently been in the top league (Premier League) the broadcast rights have belonged to Sky and BT and its only recently that Amazon have joined in.

The fact the BBC have one or two games is just a recent thing. They have been priced out by Sky and the big $$$$s

Well if you’re talking top flight league games then the β€˜a very long time’ will be true for most teams, including the β€˜big six’.

that must be a really easy question - we haven't been in the top flight since the mid 70's - Bob Lord was still Chairman - so he would never have allowed a live broadcast from Turf Moor - BBC have not broadcast a live top flight game in the Premier League until last month - so the answer is likely to be never

So as not to create a new thread but on the same lines can anyone remember the last time a Burnley match was broadcasted live on TV away to West Ham on a Wednesday night when our captain was called James?

Been wracking my brains but just cant think of when it last might have been

Wasn't it July 8th 2020 when we had a crocked team but still won?
The Preston 4-3 I think was on ITV

They weren’t on at all. Live league games didn’t start until the 1980s and there weren’t many on even then.
