7th spot good enough for group stages of Europa league?
7th spot good enough for group stages of Europa league?
If Man City lose their appeal it will likely mean we don't have to play in the preliminary rounds.

A lot of people on here don't want Europa League football.......
Ask them about Champions League football though and see what the answer is then

We are only 6 points off a champs league spot. I dont for one think we will get that but who knows? Dare to dream!!!
Imagine how gutting it would be though to qualify and not be allowed to attend.

Champs League of course, even if it puts us down. EL - not worth going down for. Straight into group stages of EL - maybe as long as we get a decent start in the PL.

Re: 7th spot good enough for group stages of Europa league?
Qualifying is now single leg matches and we wouldn’t start until 17th September even if we had to play 3 games again. The Premier League is likely to start on 12th September so it won’t be in pre season.
Players have had a longer rest than ever before. They will probably go abroad for 2-3 weeks them get back to it, a bit like us normal folks. They will be super fit after this intensive 2 months.
That’s a very different ball game to last time. Tricky, but probably worth it.

The group stages don't start until the end of October. I'd like to think there's a good chance fans will be back by then.

City decision due on Monday.

Anyone who doesn’t want to see the Clarets play in Europe or Qualify isn’t right in the head. What is the point of being in the premier league If it’s just about finance.
I will probably forget yesterday’s result, performance and goal in 15 years and we won. Will I forget my trips to Aberdeen, Istanbul and Athens. Never. One of my greatest experiences

City seem confident it will be overturned. My gut feeling is it will be reduced to either a 1 year ban or a big fine, which let's face it would be no punishment whatsoever.

Euro football is distinctly possible. Manager has learned some lessons. We can cope.
We need it. It justifies our team success and adds to their recognition.

I wouldn't mind another go in Europe.
What I disagreed with is those fans who would swap it for relegation. Staying in the Prem is the minimum we need each seaaon. Getting far in Europe is something extra when you know you aren't going down.

Fans don't actually get to decide Frank.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:07 amI wouldn't mind another go in Europe.

Supporters that go the game always want new grounds/trips to go on.
Athens was something you can't recreate over here in the premier league. But that's why people pay 30 quid a game for the premier league and a grand for the European trip.
