I can't see it lasting if Man City win their appeal next week.

They'll just amend the rules to close the loop holes.

Looking elsewhere, others are reporting similar, that they'll get off.

Clearly corruption is alive and well in football.

Is FFP ever enforced anyway? i can't recall any clubs suffering punishments due to breaching FFP rules, so it's not a deterrent to clubs not to push the boundaries, and seeing how much they can get away with.

Be a bit like Chelsea's transfer embargo, which lasted only one window, and didn't prevent them from proceeding with the Pulisic signing.

I'd read a while back that City were prepared to go through the courts for years as they have the finances to do so. Wouldn't be at all surprised if there's some brown envelopes filled with cash changed hands and it's swept under the carpet.

Clubs are punished, but from the smaller leagues, I believe a Turkish team, possibly Galatasaray, are banned from Europe under FFP. With the big teams though from Germany, Spain, France, Italy, England, it will always be just a fine and that's it.

I turn that around, clearly football is dying in diseased corruption.

Once it’s dead the disease will leave

Can't say I'm surprised really. I think UEFA wanted to make a point more than anything but they'll now be put in a very difficult position.

I think the ban will be upheld but for one year only.

My City supporting mate is confident the ban will be upheld but reduced to a year.

Malaga were banned for one season. But it's true that uEFA tends to avoid the "BIG CLUBS".

FFP is a myth, to be filed alongside other ethics and governance measures, such as “Fit & Proper Person Test”.

Why does a supporter of a club know more than anybody else. It's often said on here that a mate who supports a club says something and the fact that he supports that club somehow that opinion carries more weight. I support Burnley, but I am clueless about what is going on at the club apart from what's in the public domain

He's looked into the rights and wrongs much more than I have. Frankly I don't give two hoots if Man City are banned from Europe. I only care that they are treated fairly (he thinks they will not be).

So much like I know about the advances our youth system has made in recent years (because I care about) he has taken the time to understand the nuances of Man City's alledged offences and defence.

They wouldn’t dare overturn this...would they ? They just can’t imo ,though as many have said I’d imagine the length of the ban will be reduced considerably .
