Has it only just arrived on planet Timothy?
Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Spoilt for me by noticing the shots along Burnley Road/Padiham Road being out of sequence. One second they’re driving towards Burnley away from Padiham the next they’re driving through Padiham town centre!

Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Generally a fan of Peter Kay, a genuinely funny and talented guy but the Car Share series was a bit of a mixed bag for me.
Some genuinely laugh out loud moments (Kayleighs morning after, the monkey in a seat belt etc) but a lot of it I thought was a bit average to be honest and I don't think the improvised episode they did really worked.

Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Could have been funnier if the cyclist had taken his bottle and squirted Kay in the face.
Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Humour is subjective. I find Peter Kay rehashes the same jokes. Not to say they're not enjoyable but tired. The monkey one was definitely the funniest for me. Other episodes, most in fact; I didn't find funny.
Don't dislike him but seen him a few times and basically told the same jokes and it seeps into this show.

Re: Peter Kay... car share.
His stand-up is observational, whilst Car Share is ‘role play’. Car Share should be compared to Max and Paddy.
Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Not seen max and Paddy or Phoenix Nights. It's the rehashing of material that put me off. Shame really as he clearly is talented. Seen him live on TV a few times and he is quick witted and made me laugh when he was spur of the moment.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 7:14 amHis stand-up is observational, whilst Car Share is ‘role play’. I get what you are saying Ben. It has been said that ‘comedy writing’ is exactly what you have said, rehashing old material. To me it’s more the quality of timing and delivery that makes the material funny. I love listening to Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie To You as well as many others. My funny bone is easily tickled.
Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Can't disagree with Bob Mortimer. He's had some belters. Did you see the one where he got his nether regions caught on a hook and they were hanging out? Turned out to be true. The sort of bloke who is naturally funny and the stories he has. I'm like you, I have a wide ranging humour range. Some not to others tastes, some just have it. I find humour in even dark times. My eulogy at my Dad's funeral was based on humour and his funny moments. Nobody laughed at the time but all came up after laughing, saying 'I remember that'. As I say. I don't dislike Peter Kay, he is marvellous when he's in the moment.Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 7:48 amI get what you are saying Ben. Monkey episode made me laugh a lot.
Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Brilliant, "do they have beaches in France?" and the shot of the Halaldi shop funny.

I'm a big fan of Would I Lie To You - I watched series 3 to 6 almost back to back last week again, as even though you remember them, they're still funny. Kevin Bridges also very funny with his stories on there - when they were given a horse.
I have to echo what's been said about Bob Mortimer, they're always absolute belters and more often than not, they're true!

Re: Peter Kay... car share.
They did a similar thing when filming Grand Designs when they did the "The Peel" at Hellifield ... Scenes shot driving through Long Preston in both directions & very poorly edited as they drove past the Maypole and Boars Head twice in different directions whilst ignoring Hellifields "Remarkable" Architecture...
The continuity guys probably think "ahhh no bugger will notice "
Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Thought the op was being sarcastic. One of the dullest things I’ve ever seen.

A perfect advert for script writers. Dire.

Re: Peter Kay... car share.
I think it's really watchable and quietly and cleverly amusing with the odd belter of a spoken or visual gag thrown in.
I've also got a bit of a thing about Sian Gibson which is a bit worrying.

Re: Peter Kay... car share.
Fair enough. I’m a fan of the show just not last nights unscripted effort.

I'm only teasing, of course. Unscripted is always risky.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 8:20 pmFair enough. I’m a fan of the show just not last nights unscripted effort.
