Its immaterial really as His Eminence would have saved any Liverpool penalty.

I stand corrected. Thanks mdd2 for that liturgical lesson.

Impressive by mdd2 because his only religion is Burnley Football Club!

The outburst by Roberton and Klopp's after match comments are unnecessary, however, in normal circumstances Robertson's comments would not have been heard and plenty of players and managers vent their frustration towards officials and the officials do not take action because they realise that it is frustration. If they really overstep the mark the official could take action there and then, however, he would certainly include it in his report and action could be taken later. Personally, I would be surprised if anything came out of this incident.

If Coote doesn't include it in his match report it makes "The Respect" campaign look stupid.

"The Respect" campaign has been stupid for years. Much talked about, however, no real push from the top level.

The FA consider that it should filter through from the grassroots level and things would be better at the top level.
It is like their attitude to swearing. At grassroots level officials are told to clamp down on swearing and, when they do so, they are backed up by the various County FAs, however, every game that you see at EFL and PL level is full of players swearing, in fact, I am told that in recent games shown on TV the commentators have been apologising for things said!
The FA consider that this is acceptable because they term it as 'industrial language' and is used in their place of work!

There is nothing to discuss. Joey is in front of Robertson, stretches and plays the ball and Robertson manufactures the contact by running into Joey's legs. This is happening more and more in the modern game and is just an attempt to 'win' a penalty by conning the officials.
As happened at Villa Park the other night when Fernandez lost the ball and decided to fall over the defenders feet to gain an advantage; a penalty.

Why are referees standing for this?

Why didn’t he just issue a card?

Refs are too old. Some are in their forties.
If I ruled the world (the football world, of course) I'd have trainee referees starting like footballers at 16 yrs old and going to referee academies.
I think it's a bit too easy for a fit, pumped 20ish year old to intimidate the current referees.

Ref should have carded him on the spot. Reviewing is pointless.

klopp was hovering, hearing his idiot player ranting, but standing off just awaiting his chance to nip in and have a go at the ref too, horrible pair.

It didn't sound like he was complaining about the penalty, rather Nick time wasting. He says you didn't book him until the end, he could only have neen talking about Nick.

They're unhappy because they didn't win, so they should be, I'd hope we'd be unhappy in the circumstances. It's just passion, nothing for us to get upset about.
Kopp is a great manager, and Robertson a great player, you should be enjoying the moment, rather than kicking at windmills.

at the end of match of the day, lineker said we don't have time to discusss the penalty and Mr Wright could be heard in the background saying "definite penalty".

And I guess that you believed everything Klopp said about us and the manager pre-match. Not passion: the game was over and they behave like spoilt children. Wonder what else, possibly more significant, has got under their skin in recent weeks and months?

Klopp on Lampard’s post match comments...

“Frank was in really competitive mood, I respect that a lot. For me, after the game, it's completely over," he said.

He could perhaps do with following his own advice.
