I note that Drinky is neither starting or on the Villa bench. Anyone know what’s happened to him?
Maybe back at Chelsea after the end of the contract period?
He was on the bench v Wolves a couple of weeks ago but that’s the only time he has been since the restart.
They did extend his contract just before the Wolves game to ensure he was available for the remaining games.

I don't think this game mattered. They were already up.

shocking decision of VAR to overturn Palace goal. That was clearly the top of his shoulder. I defy anyone to place there arm alongside their ear, and have it down by their side at the same time.

Villa have a much worse goal difference than everyone else which means they'll need at least another five points just to go ahead of the teams above them.

If Everton play like they have in the last couple there’s 3 points there. A lot may depend on the West Ham v Watford game. If West Ham beat Watford I cant see Watford getting another point and with West Ham safe on the last day it is very possible that Villa could win and stay up.

No it's tough to see 2 wins out of 3, and that's the minimum they'll need, plus West Ham play Watford on Friday, so if either of those win that, they'll be out of it.
Everton were poor today, but at Goodison they're a different proposition.
Arsenal are battling for a European place.
And if they take it to the last day then who knows, but they'll do well to manage that.

With the way Everton have been playing, I could see them getting 6 points at a push.

Everton away are gash, Everton at home not so much, and you'd expect Ancelotti to get a reaction from them after today.
I'd still give long odds against Villa survivng, even with the 3 points today, all they've done is maintain the 4 point gap to Watford & West Ham, and another game has passed, they really need 7 points from 3 games to be confident of survival, and i can't see that.

It'll be interesting. Villa have to play West Ham and there's also West Ham vs Watford to come.
If West Ham were to lose both those games, then their other game is Man United away, who are likely going to have something to play for.

And there's a glaring difference between the so-called big six sides and the rest.
Robertson get's away with being abusive towards the referee, simply because he plays for Liverpool.

Benteke got a straight red for violent conduct after the whistle - he booted a Villa player, bit different to swearing

Another decision going Villa's way ! They had another one against Sheff Utd when the ball had clearly crossed the goal line. They deserve to go down.

Well he is the most fouled player, as the commentators continually pointed out, the annoying aspect is he's a good player when his game heads on, but he also a cheating little sod.
In other words a perfect fit for Man Utd.
