When were we last live on the BBC at the Turf?
Struggling to think when BBC cameras were last here for a live game. Could it have even been as far back as the European Cup games in 60/61? I know they will have shown us live in the 1962 Cup final, obviously not at the Turf.

I doubt that we've ever been live on the BBC. I think the Wolves game will be a first.
And this time is probably only because they think Wolves will win and they will be able to drool over the likes of Adama Traoré and Diogo Jota

4-3 against Preston, 2010
Re: When were we last live on the BBC at the Turf?
Was the 4-3 v PNE wasn't it? Iwelumo hat trick, and a late J Rod winner
Re: When were we last live on the BBC at the Turf?
November 2011 I believe when we lost 2-1 to Leeds.

The Leeds game - think that was the last live broadcast - 1-0 up at half-time lost 2-1 if I remember correctly - Lee Dixon was the summariser and he had plenty to say about Brian Easton's performance

Hamburg home and away were both live. Was definitely only the second half in the away leg, not so sure of the home leg.turfytopper wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 9:50 amThose European cupo games were not live unfortunately.....have we ever been on live TV at the Turf? They had some championship games not that long ago. Around the time when that football league show was going with Manish Bhasin and the awful Steve Claridge.

Incredible to think that was 17 years ago now

That was the last time and I can confirm I had plenty to say about Brian Easton's performance tooEarbyClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 10:33 amThe Leeds game - think that was the last live broadcast - 1-0 up at half-time lost 2-1 if I remember correctly - Lee Dixon was the summariser and he had plenty to say about Brian Easton's performance

Re: When were we last live on the BBC at the Turf?
Being only 8 years old I wasn't allowed to see the European games at the Turf. The second half at home v Hamburg was live as was the away leg which I rushed home from school to watch. That was it although I do recall seeing John Connelly's terrific goal at Reims on ' Sportsview'. Whether that was a brief, live piece of footage I can't honestly say.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 10:36 amHamburg home and away were both live. I did go to the Hamburg home game and we were let out of school early to get home for the second half of the second leg.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 11:16 amBeing only 8 years old I wasn't allowed to see the European games at the Turf. Re: When were we last live on the BBC at the Turf?
Wasn't that the 2-0, lost 2-3 game? Unless it's a different one. Didn't realise it was on telly.EarbyClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 10:33 amThe Leeds game - think that was the last live broadcast - 1-0 up at half-time lost 2-1 if I remember correctly - Lee Dixon was the summariser and he had plenty to say about Brian Easton's performance
Easton was up against a young Snodgrass for Leeds, as bad a mismatch as you'll see at Championship level.

I too didn't realise it was live on TV...why would a championship league match be shown live?

Re: When were we last live on the BBC at the Turf?
I think the 0-0 draw with Blackburn in the FA cup was televised live by the BBC. I can remember Gary Lineker saying that "the war at Turf Moor turned into a bore draw". I don't think he likes us much.

The 0-0 Blackburn game was in 2005 so probably not the last one but it was on the BBC. The last 15 years have flown by.
