We're still the last team to beat Man Utd, and that was way back on the 30th January. Amazing that between us we've lost 1 game since, and that was our defeat to Man City.

I wouldn't worry about the odd hammering off City, they've been blitzing everybody bear Chelsea since the restart, i can tolerate that when we're picking up points against everybody else.
And we have picked up the odd result against City in recent years, Boyd's famous winner, the 2-2 and 3-3 at their place, and of course the 1-1 when Guddy scored late on, after Sterling missed a sitter.

and what a sitter it was,

Haven't Southampton turned things round.
They were excellent against City and whilst not so good last night they were still good enough for United.

Still the best team in the PL for me. Their movement and passing is phenomenal. Liverpool are pretty much reliant on pace. They are, to a degree; predictable. You know their players who will cause damage and can nullify that as we did. City are midfield and forward wise the best team. Defensively is City's problem. They're not particularly solid. I don't care who won the league, Man City are far better a team overall. You look at Liverpool's bench and think ok. We could deal with that. I was watching the City game the other night and they brought on Foden and David Silva. City will tighten up their defence in the summer and quite a number of Liverpool's games this season they got lucky. Very lucky.
I'll say it now and you can reference it at the end of 2020/21. City will walk the league next season.

Sidenote! The actual Man Utd game. Similar to above with City. Can't defend and sideshow Bob (Pogba) etc need shifting. He thinks he is better than he is! Exciting prospects up front. Questionable in midfield and defence and goal tbh!

Yes Saints have really improved since the Autumn, they looked nailed on for relegation at one point, this just shows that having faith in your manager and not panicking can pay dividends. What impressed me about Southampton in both those games was their incessant workrate, they never allowed either Manchester side a moment's peace on the ball, and they pressed as a team, led from the front by Adams and Ings.

Agree City have the best attacking side in the country, they have been let down by defenders costing north of 60 million thats bad judgement by the City management,he dosent always get it right does Pep,and blaming this seasons loss of the title on one defender being injured is a pretty crap excuse......might be harder to win the Premier league next season though.....United starting to look good to me....apart from last nights shite show!BenWickes wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 7:33 amStill the best team in the PL for me.
