3 games to go. Where will we finish
3 games to go. Where will we finish
Currently in 10th place with 50 points
Below are our best and worst finishing position per points total
50 point Best 10 Worst 14
51 -9-14
52-9-13
53-8=12
54-8-12
55-7-10
56 to 59 -6-10
So 5 points or more means a minimum of a top 10 finish. Worst finish could be 14th. Best finish could be 6th. All are assuming we have a worse goal difference if we tie on points. Hopefully my maths are correct. I have not allowed for fixtures where teams that affect our position play each other

7th or 8th
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
Will be a very happy Claret with 55+ points ... how many would have predicted a plus 50 points tally at Christmas
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
We hit 54 points to get to seventh place, so I'll be happy with beating that. 59 points would take the edge off this crap year, though I'm not sure it'll get us to seventh place.

9th or 10th. brilliant achievement.
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
55 points guarantees a top 10 finish which in my opinion is fantastic

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
55 means highest ever Premier League points total. That or higher will do me for this season.
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
See no reason we can't win the last three games. We'll be well up for the Wolves game after the injustice at Molineux. We deserved 3 points there and Wolves know it. Norwich away. The way they've been playing we should be winning easily. Brighton at home. Hate to say it, they're not a bad side but should beat them as well. If results go our way. 6th/7th. Feeling we'll finish 9th because of other results. Which will be a decent season.

Despite all the upset and tragic events, I have enjoyed this strange season.
It could be my last though if stupidity at board level forces out Sean.

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
Europe will be a tough ask now, but we should certainly finish top 10, if we can come above Arsenal that'd be sweet, it's by no means impossible we'll rattle off 3 wins, and if we do then 8th/9th should be well within reach minimum, all we can do is pick up points and see what happens with everybody else, we're on course for a record PL points total, and we can't do anymore than that.

Probs 8th/9th but if we beat Wolves 7th could still be on

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
Probably 10th. Don't see us overtaking anyone or being overtaken by anyone tbh.
8th or 9th would be great but either way, it's been another season of incredible over-achievement from Sean Dyche and the squad.
Shame Citeh have had their appeal overturned because it's vastly dimmed that glimmer of hope for another European campaign.

Agree with most of that but 9th decent season?BenWickes wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 6:10 amSee no reason we can't win the last three games. Would be fantastic considering everything
Bit off topic but cant decide whether another trip into Europe would again be amazing, or possibly a disaster?
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
If we can finish in the top 10 that would be an incredible achievement given our resources and the impact of Coronavirus. If we can get the best ever PL points total that would be the cherry on top. I think Europe is unlikely as Wolves and Sheff U also look very good at the moment.
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
Possibly 6th, likely 7th, otherwise robbed!

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
Anywhere from 10 upwards would be brilliant. Finishing above Everton again will do for me
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
If we win our last three games we could finish as high as 6th.
And qualify for Europe again.
If we manage to achieve that then it has to be our best season
so far. We'd also get an additional 15m or so in prize money
than last season.
I'd be more than happy if we finished 8th or 9th and don't
get into Europe.
Even more so if Dyche doesn't leave and we manage to get
2 or 3 decent young players in.

As long as we finish above Arsenal I'll be happy and with our last 3 fixtures that's quite possible

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
My guess is we'll finish with 54 points, where that leaves us.....I really don't care, as long as we aren't messing with Europa League nonsense. All things considered, this has been a magnificent season for our lads.

Not sure who will beat us, now. 3 wins and some decent trips. Players are going for it. Brilliant!
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
We will not finish below 10th and top half is an amazing achievement.
We will get 56 or 59 points
My gut feeling is 8th which would have been Europa is Citeh couldn’t have afforded the better lawyers

8th is perfect.
Edit. Win today though and I think we will finish 6th, depending on Leicester winning their remaining games against our rivals.

2 wins so 56 points. 8th?
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
I get where you're coming from but yes it's been a decent season. If we'd started with the form we're currently in we'd be top four. I am a Clarets fan because of who we are but I expect more. I don't subscribe to the idea that we are little Burnley. We're there on merit and what's the point in even existing if you aren't out to win the entire thing?clitheroeclaret3 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 10:57 amAgree with most of that but 9th decent season?

It's unlikely with our current financial constraints but more than possible if we could carry current form over a whole season and/or investment.
It's been decent. Finishing 4th would be great, 3rd, amazing, 2nd beyond amazing and 1st, well words couldn't describe it.
Regards Europe. Depends if the board would invest. Players are more likely to join if there's a European cup to play for but they'll also be aware of our finances.

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
I'll take 9th if we finish above Arsenal, tough to see us finishing higher than that now, but 9th would still be a great campaign. with that.
1-1 now so no clean sheet for Alisson with that.

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
It would but it's hard not to see Spurs and Sheff Utd surpassing that total, we should definitely be top 10, and that's not to be sniffed at.
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
If Arsenal hold on and beat Liverpool the I think 10th is the most likely.
Stiill even that is a pretty good achievement and an additional 10m in the coffers.

I'd still be happy with 55 points. That's 4 points from our remaining 2 games and will most probably have us finishing in 10th.

Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
I'd be delighted to get to 55 points, I am with the 51 we've got. Would be nice to get a few more though.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 11:30 amI'd still be happy with 55 points. That's 4 points from our remaining 2 games and will most probably have us finishing in 10th.
Re: 3 games to go. Where will we finish
Only had one good run in (last 3 games) from Sean's teams and that was when we were relegated, last 3 from 16/17 to 18/19 has seen us D,L,L D,L,L and L,L,L. So we are presently better than last season. In 14/15 we had a good run in W,D,W and in 2009-10 L,L,W. Think we will better most of those run ins and hopefully repeat 2014-15 season with 7 points
