Does anyone know someone called Alan Judd?

Post by ClaretTony » Tue Jul 14, 2020 2:52 pm

Burnley FC Supporters Groups have received an email today from someone who served in the army in the 1960s with a Burnley fan called Alan Judd. Given the era, I'd assume Alan, if still with us, would be in his 70s or 80s.

If you know him or know of him, can you please make contact and also let me know.

Thanks,
Tony

It's a start - it's not the most common of names so there is a chance it's him.

Alan Judd from the Prairie died 10 years ago (according to Google).

Yes. And there's a photo that Tony could perhaps pass on. Even though it's many years later, the person trying to find him may still recognise him.

Thanks, just seen he was 59 at the time, so 69 now, which is probably as young as he could possibly have been given he served in the 1960s.

Looks as though this could be him. The person asking is 69 and said Alan was very similar age to him. I've sent him the link to the obituary.

Thanks for your help.

I knew Alan (Juddy) Judd well and his first wife Kath in the early 70’s. He did indeed run the Prairie pub and before that a pub in Cambridge and also the North Valley in Colne. I can also definitely confirm that Alan was in the Army for a short while which I think he joined straight from school and if my memory is correct he worked at Mitchelin Tyres in Burnley when I first met him.
