Wow Nuno sounds very downbeat. Not easy to interview at all! I know who I'd prefer to interview.
Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
I like Nuno personally. He doesn't make excuses and admits if the other team was better. Quite a number of managers spring to mind but Arteta is the polar opposite of Nuno.

To be fair to Arteta he has been schooled by two of the all time greatest ungracious, sore losers in Wenger and Guardiola so it's hardly a surprise that he is the same

Great listen, thanks Chester.
Interesting transfer comments at the end re: we should be looking at “more rounded” players now. By that I hope he means established and not overweight

Why don’t some journalists listen to what has just been asked ? What’s the point of asking Sean exactly the same questions again. They must go in with a list of questions and think I’m not changing them no matter what. No wonder he sounds exasperated with it sometimes.

He's looking at players who can come straight into the team, as opposed to players who need to learn 'The Burnley Way'.
Looks like there could be some interesting midfield changes tonight, with Pieters playing left wing, McNeil in the middle with Westy and Gudders on the right. Brownhill dropping to the bench.

I'll knit you a nice cardy out of fog if Brownhill is benched,Gordaleman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:50 amHe's looking at players who can come straight into the team, as opposed to players who need to learn 'The Burnley Way'.

I could do with a new cardy, but fog wouldn't be very warm.

Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
Can't see McNeil playing in a midfield two. Way too much overload on Westwood that line up. McNeil is not even ready for a midfield role yet. He's more suited to a floating role across the midfield in a 4-5-1 or on the wing.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:09 amhttps://www.footballtransfertavern.com/ ... ves-dyche/

Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
I think you're wrong. I think Sean sees him operating more and more in the middle but with a free role to wander to the left wing as he sees fit.
Tonight's line up might show that.
Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
crucial 12 pointer tonight!
Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
I don't disagree that McNeil has a future as a midfielder and most people on here tend to agree that he would suit that role, eventually. That said. If we rock up with a 4-4-2. With an ageing left back playing left wing, a not match fit JBG on the right. McNeil being given licence to roam where the hell he likes. Leaving Westwood to hold the fort in midfield all on his own. That is a scary, scary thought!Gordaleman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:21 amI think you're wrong. Agree and so would be surprised if McNeil starts as a CM in a 442.BenWickes wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 12:04 pmI don't disagree that McNeil has a future as a midfielder and most people on here tend to agree that he would suit that role, eventually. Anyway, it wasn't me that suggested the line up, it was https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/ ... ves-dyche/ They suggested it as a foil to combat the threat of Adama Traore. (If he's fit.)BenWickes wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 12:04 pmI don't disagree that McNeil has a future as a midfielder and most people on here tend to agree that he would suit that role, eventually. Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
SD is talking far better now in his interviews, both pre and post match.
He now gives honest logical and respectful responses to the interviewers questions, whereas he used to be brusque and slightly sharp.
He actually appears to be happier within himself.

Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
SD sounding slightly more positive than a few weeks ago but rightly concerned about the injuries, which could end up impacting the start of next season if it's not too far off.
Nuno fair enough with his interview imo. He's right, their pressing absolutely stumped us; we didn'y know what to do with the ball tonight and they didn't give us much time to think about what to do with it.

Re: Burnley v Wolves Press Conferences etc
First Wolves fan seems quite reasonable but the second one definitely had his old Gold tinted ones on. Anti football comments usually come across as bitter and Wood nearly taking the defenders head off - well how was he to know the defender was there ? Considering we lost two of our most influential players I think we were fully deserving of the point and yet again the spirit of our players cannot be questioned - not at their best but understandably they looked tired but what an effort they put in again.
