Did it hit your head?

No, fortunately it wasn’t the first time I’ve had bodily fluid slung my way so had an idea it was coming. I wouldn’t have minded, it’s beats the time I had a full stoma bag thrown at me

I once had a big tooth abcess. Decided i needed help and ended up at the Accrington hospital emergency dentist. He numbed it with fluid..cut my gum open and sucked the gunge out. He then gave me a prescription. As i was about to walk out i was in no pain but he stopped me to tell me to go to my dentists. The room was at the end of a long passage leading to the dental reception area. I opened the door and the pain hit me. I've had nothing like it and i hope i never will again. Sheer agony. So bad i was finding it hard to breathe. The corridor seemed miles and when i got to the reception there were looks of horror on the people who were waiting. I must have looked dreadful. I walked out into the main foyer of the hospital and sat down. Either that or I passed out. Five minutes later i was fine again. To make it worse i had no car and was getting the bus back to Burnley..via a walk to Asda to get the prescription. It was a day I won't ever forget.

Ingrown toenail. Not the nail or the operation itself, but the local anaesthetic to numb it. Superfine needle so barely felt a thing as it went in - that was followed by what felt like a power washer blasting my nerve endings as they deposited the anaesthetic into my toe. I needed about 5 injections before it was adequately nunbed too.

Honourable mentions for back pain, earache and going sun blind - none of which were especially fun.

Would have been easier just to have had your toe off :D

Getting one of those tatty old football in your face when I was younger. Y’know the ones, beat up old ball with dirty grey fabric coming through as the leather has fallen off. That hurt.

Once trapped the car door on my finger when I was young. The actually shut and I had to use the handle. Amazingly my finger didn’t break.

Not necessarily . According to Mel Gibson, Sir William Wallace just shouted Freeeedommm!

So perhaps that can be a joyous release?

Failed anaesthetic during multiple dental proceedures.

Badly broken arm manipulated back in place by student nurses. Repeated again a fortnight later as the bones were a mile off joining.

Dislocated shoulder, rips all the surrounding bits.

KIDNEY STONES. You are now entering into the realms of serious pain. The male equivacal of childbith. Hell's Bells, the initial diagnosis / treatment is incredibly invasive. I underwent surgery which revealed that I already had passed the stones. Bonus.

Wus... I went through a phase of hating needles so I had 3 fillings without anaesthetic - it’s not as bad as you’d think, and it’s over much quicker too.

I had a tooth extraction with a failed anaesthetic, which is something I really wouldn’t want to experience again. Tbh, I wouldn’t even inflict that on eversheddyeddie or even a Bast4rds fan.

Dislocated shoulder. Right one used to pop out regular as a younger man. First time polishing a table, hand slipped off the edge of table sharply and pop. Next time, lying face down in bed, girlfriend slapped me on the back, jumped back quick, pop out again. Hurts like hell, cant stand up straight. Interesting how differently they put it back in to place dependent on how its positioned whilst out of joint. Luckiest I had was on a banana boat in Tunisia. I was sat at the back. Some clown at the front started to rock us all from side to side. Next I knew we are all thrown in to the sea. Force from the splash down knocked my shoulder out again. Boat came back to pick us up and when others heaved me back on to the boat, it popped back into place. Massive relief as didn't fancy a hospital visit out there.

Those all sound painful, but I just gave neymar a call, and he said that it was nothing compared to being touched by someone while standing in an opponents penalty area.

If it was Jimmy Saville doing the touching, I can see his point.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it previously, but Shingles takes some beating.

I hurt my back in the 90s and had Sciatica then, but Shingles? Boy that's sooooooo painful.

I think that I have tried to wipe the following from my memory.

As a kid I went from the top of Woodplumpton Road (Crown Point) to the bottom where you join the New Road, on a Raleigh Chipper bicycle. It had no brakes.

Hurtling down at speeds I have never matched I hit a bump which ejected me out of the seat and I landed back on the frame between my balls and my arse and eveything was totalled.

I required emergency surgery to repair the damage but this was unfortunately delayed as the Surgeons had to stop laughing before carrying out the procedure.

Waking up after open heart surgery with a collapsed lung and a chest infection. Pain was indescribable, took a week of intensive care to clear and go to a normal recovery. Been home 2 weeks now, still a terrible memory but at least I am here.

I had a Covid test today. Just because there’s a bit going around our town. I’ve had 6 retina operations and 3 broken ribs, but let me tell you that woman ramming a swab up your interior nasal passage with chemicals on its end? **** that again. I said some ungentlemanly words. And then she said she had to do the other side too!!! 😳

For me it is a toss up between getting 'stung' by fire coral or kneeling accidentally on a stone fish whilst teaching.....both obviously diving.

The first was hellish painful but the second I guess was worst as I had to continue teaching for 20 minutes whilst literally feeling like my leg was gonna explode! Got back onto the boat and it looked like the elephant mans leg!
