Tonight's footy 16/7/20
4 PL games tonight
Everton-Villa
Leicester-Sheff Utd
Palace-Man Utd
Southampton-Brighton
And in the Champ. Leeds can take a big step towards promotion if they beat Barnsley. as you'd expect them too.
From our POV Everton, Sheff Utd and Saints dropping points would be helpful to our cause.
Can't see past a Man Utd win.

Do you know, this football coming back has been great but I can't get anything else done. I'm even a couple of episodes behind on Corrie.

Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
I hadn't missed footy during the break, wondered if I'd be bothered..........I've not missed a game yet and have even watched a few championship games, I too have got nothing done since the re-start
Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
If Leeds win tonight they're just about there. I fancy the Blades to do a number on Leicester as well, the wheels seem to have come off big time.

wouldn't surprise me to see Villa get something at Everton, Sheff Utd win and Palace upset United. I fancy Saints to beat Brighton although their home form is patchytiger76 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:15 pm4 PL games tonight

So everyone needs to lump on Everton, Leicester, United and Brighton

Leicester won 3-0 at Newcastle on New Year' Day, Since then they have won 3, drawn 5 and lost 6. Those wins have come against West Ham, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

I've got the prayer mat out for Roy Hodgson to do us all a favour tonight. It's time somone else whipped Man Ure and not just Burnley.
By the way, forget the prayer mat, as I'm not one bit religious.

They're up. I just want Brentford to go up with them instead of WBA. Then get a team like Cardiff to win the playoffs. While we're likely to stay up every season that SD remains in charge, it would still be nice to up our chances with teams coming up that are likely to struggle.

Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
Even Leeds won't make a horlicks of this, ideally i'd want Brentford and Millwall to come up, i think both would struggle, and the more teams that we can rely on to struggle the better.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 4:51 pmThey're up. Yes we are doing well right now, but it's worth remembering at the turn of the year we were close to the bottom 3, and well it may be boring, our 1st aim at the start of every season has to be staying in this league.

Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
Millwall would be ok as well.
Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
Leeds and Brentford would be 2 good away days for next season, if we're ever allowed to go to games again! We've played at the Hawthorns loads in the past 10 or 15 years, and we usually get beat there.
Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
It's brilliant having all these games to watch !
Can't see Palace getting owt, they are having a meltdown which hopefully will continue into next season, though they will be ok if Hodgson sees out his contract. They will no doubt lose Zaha in the close season and have an ageing defence and crucially no real goalscorer.

Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
I could be wrong, but i'm sure Sean said that he's never won there, even in his playing days he found it a bogey ground, and we always seem to get turned over at the Hawthorns, Leeds much as people despise them will bring a great atmosphere to the PL home & away, it'd be good for Brentford to taste the top table after all their efforts to build the club up over the past decade, and it would be fitting for their new stadium to host PL footy.

Really want Villa to win to open things up at the bottom and make tomorrow's West Ham v Watford game a real crunch. Also would keep the possibility of a final day death match between Villa and West Ham alive.

I'm always impressed with McGoldrick of Sheffield Utd whenever I've seen him. He seems to have been at a lot of clubs.

Re: Tonight's footy 16/7/20
I admit I only had a quick look but if Southampton and Everton lose tonight we are 99%nailed on for a top 10 finish - goal difference being the only potential threat.
I have a vested interest - pre season bet for top 10

Leeds hang on for the 3 points, they're up bar the shouting. About time they've not been in the top division for 16 years.

Yes, all his competitors have conceded in the latest round of matches. If he can keep clean sheets in the last two matches then at worse he’ll share the golden glove (two fingers and half a thumb each?).Gordaleman wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:00 pmPopey will be happy. In another league, Real Madrid win the title tonight if they win or Barcelona fail to win. Both teams have home games.

Even if Villa just grind out a point tonight, that huge game tomorrow might just go Watford's way, and see the Hammers dragged into it again.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 6:04 pmReally want Villa to win to open things up at the bottom and make tomorrow's West Ham v Watford game a real crunch. Then yes, probably a colossal Villa/WHam last day shoot out.

Everton drop points tonight and they'll find it hard to catch us, they've just gone 1-0 down. Watford & West Ham will be getting nervous now.

Villa player does a Chris Wood and misses from 2 yards out, should be 2-0

2-0 Leicester, heaps the pressure on Utd in the later game. The Blades getting nowt tonight, we could finish above them, but we'll need to win our last 2 to do so.

Finished 1-1 2 points spilled by Villa, could be the killer blow for them. Decent night for the clarets, both the Toffees and the Blades dropped important points.
