Talksport

Post by ewanrob » Fri Jul 17, 2020 2:45 pm

Dont normally listen to much, but a friend of mine just text me saying Sean is on with Mr Durham after 4 today....hes a decent interviewer by all accounts and not scared to ask difficult questions...might be an interesting listen.

Adrian Durham is a bellend. Nothing decent about him.

Dont listen then. SD was also on being interviewed live on the mid morning show the other day. Certainly well liked on Talk Sport.

Durham spends most of his time slagging Dyche and Burnley off, be interesting to hear if he does it to his face. I cannot stand Adrian Durham or the station tbh. Still awaiting the apology from Darren Bent for his tweet that even McNeil called him out on

Don't think it was the station's fault that Darren Bent made that cras remark.

Might still be worth listening to, just hear what Sean says?

afaik he tweeted to McNeil, he never apologized to the club, Talksport didn't apologize to the club or it's supporters. Did I miss it ?

I wont be in when it's on, hopefully someone will post the link so i and others can listen later (just to the interview, not the rest of his bile), I hope Dyche calls Durham out on it though, he's given the gaffer so much **** in the last couple of years

Not sure there's much to gain by alienating Talksport or their presenters. I'm sure Sean has thought about all this, so what he says about it, or not, may be interesting.

Just played a clip under the headline “Dyche refusing to rule out leaving Burnley”
In the clip he said it was only 14 games ago people were calling for his head and that he wants to develop himself and not just others

Sounds ominous - though he has said similar things in the past.
I’m predicting that after talking about him disparagingly for ages Durham will be all pally and then after revert to winding up listeners by suggesting Dyche needs to leave.

Sean would be a fool to do so. That would deny him any influence at all with the board re transfers and the uncertainty is currently his best friend. As a result, he may get more to spend in the coming window and possibly a new contract for himself.

Don't worry, I'm pretty certain that Sean is going nowhere.

"Tell me, Mr Dyche, if Manchester City offered you full control and £20m per year and a £1bn transfer kitty, would you consider taking the job?"

"Well, Mr. Interviewer, I couldn't rule it out."

Two part interview with second part to come at 530. To borrow a word from Private Eye - an exercise in arslikhan from Durham!

Sean is becoming a past master at deflecting all these questions about his future by waffling and going on all round the houses until you've forgotten what the question was. But what is he is supposed to say " Yep Adrian, Burnley is a bit of a **** hole and I want a better job" .

Good interview, as expected he comes across well.

Shocking as it may sound, he doesn't try to coach anything out of McNeil, just let's him play.

In favour of VAR, just thinks it needs working on to improve it.

Hasn't thought about leaving.

Plays 442 because that suits his players.

It’s all about “automaticity”, in Dyche speak

The station went downhill when they lost Colin Murray and Stan Collymore imo.

They were the only decent presenters, along with H&J (who are starting to get a bit samey)

I suspect that Sean would make a very good Poker player. He's not showing his hand to the board and the question is, "Will they call his bluff?"

No, I don't think they will.

Sean doesn't want to leave. He hasn't quite built his dynasty yet. Still a bit more work to do.

C'mon Sean, c'mon you PL Clarets.

Listening to talk sport mr dyche just wants the best for him and rightly so if he doesn’t get what he wants from the club he will old the club to ransom if The club don’t back him he will leave and take all his staff with him excellent manager but worrying times for the club utc

We're likely to finish tenth. Is there a club 1 -9 in the L where his style of management would work?
I think he wants to "better" himself, but maybe at a club which isn't currently successful, a club where he could exert maximum influence and improve that club.
just an observation after listening to him today.
At no point did he say he was committed to Burnley Football Club, although he did express committment to "the group"...interesting.

Possibly the worst pairing was collymore and danter. Agree 30 mins before show what to disagree on, then fill air with shouting at each other to generate calls.

When they turned on, I turned off.

I used to like trans euro express till they put Goldstein on it. Danny Kelly is up his own arse, but at least he knows what he is talking about.

Bring back Gerald Harper with his 'Champagne & Roses' slot!
