Assuming you're not allowed to sit on the red covers, it doesn't take into account that a lot of people go out in pairs. Indeed, you could have a family of 5 socially distanced on that bench.
People need to apply commonsense.

Perhaps the reason why one seat in the middle is left free, but the tape is on the seat not the arms for the others so they can still be sat on, is to indicate that only one family group - whether 1 person or 5 - can sit on that bench.

Interesting that on the left bus, the double reflection makes the pink bus look like Lady Penelope's Rolls Royce and the pitched roof like a large person with a white shirt.
