Fly on the wall
I'd have loved to hear the conversation between Sean Dyche and Ashley Westwood after Westy went down in a delayed manner following his karate chop from Buendia
I'm guessing that he got a bit of stick from the likes of Tarks, Bardsley, Long and Pieters too

Re: Fly on the wall
Much debate on this outside of Burnley, but I thought Dion Dublin, once a Norwich player made a very valid point. If you look at the Norwich players arm which connected with Westwood, the hand was clinched. His other hand was not. This to me this is anger and intent to harm

I can only suggest you've not been struck like that RalphCoatesComb if you thought he went down in a delayed manner. Dublin had it spot on.

Right at the top of the neck/lower back of the head is possibly the softest part of your head and full of nerves and muscle.
He literally could have knocked him out with that cowardly elbow if he had hit the spot.
Certainly a sore one, and was 100% intentional.

Re: Fly on the wall
Even Farke said they were both reds. An elbow to the head hurts and he didn’t stay down. He gave it a rub and jumped up. No play acting at all.
Re: Fly on the wall
I didn’t see any delay with him going down?
Are you sure you weren’t watching the bit where they pause it, on VAR?

Re: Fly on the wall
I was surprised at how many have said he went down easy, there’s a reason you can’t punch there in boxing. In slow motion it won’t look that hard but your elbow is tough
Re: Fly on the wall
In slow motion you could see Westwood's hair bouncing it would not do that from a soft blow.

Re: Fly on the wall
I have had several blows to the head over the years but, thankfully, not an elbow chop to the back of the neck. It was a RED, should have been a RED, but Westy did make a meal of it.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2020 1:43 pmI can only suggest you've not been struck like that RalphCoatesComb if you thought he went down in a delayed manner. Re: Fly on the wall
Went down easy. And I’d be miffed if it was the other way. But I’d be more miffed at our player for giving the ref an easy decision to make.
Reality is you can’t do it. No matter how soft it was.

I think he was making the pun “meal” and “chop”.RalphCoatesComb wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 10:09 pmThat's as I saw it but, I apologise for disagreeing with you
