How did you get the bird to stop flying mid-air whilst you took the photo?

Re: Summer Photos
Nice photo's Dom. It always looks ideal for swimming around the coast of the British Isles, until you dip a toe in!
Re: Summer Photos
We went in the sea twice. Once at Kincasslach when we were sea kayaking, even in a wetsuit it was freezing. The other time was at Keem Bay and it was surprisingly warm. Nice to see a bit of the British Isles.JohnMac wrote:Nice photo's Dom. It always looks ideal for swimming around the coast of the British Isles, until you dip a toe in!

Greeting from Manchester, where I'm stuck for the next few months. Who's complaining, though, when we're a mere 35 miles from the Turf!

Re: Summer Photos
can i add a big 'well done' and a collective 'like' to you all for the pics. not only are they a pleasure to see but the fact that this thread contains none of the usual bickering, petty one-upmanship,school-boyish taunting, grammar policing and general all-round nastiness is a breath of fresh-air. keep them coming, clarets.

Re: Summer Photos
Photographers tend to be a nice bunch, always willing to help each other to become better at our art. I've recently taken up wildlife photography and I've been quite pleased with some of my shots but I owe it all to a few incredible guys, who I've accompanied to some brilliant places and they showed me the ropes.biggles wrote:can i add a big 'well done' and a collective 'like' to you all for the pics. not only are they a pleasure to see but the fact that this thread contains none of the usual bickering, petty one-upmanship,school-boyish taunting, grammar policing and general all-round nastiness is a breath of fresh-air. keep them coming, clarets.
We all help each other, so if you ever see a group of togs in camouflage gear at an airshow, they'll be with me.

Re: Summer Photos
Not a quality shot at all, taken from a video, but we had 5 minutes of mayhem trying to get this little devil out of the house. Eventually he fell asleep behind a mirror and I was able to carry the mirror outside and he flew off. It could drive you batty!

This is definitely a summer activity for me, though I do believe keen aviation photographers brave the climb up Cad West in the winter.

I found a hollowed out stag beetle on the lawn this afternoon. it started moving and a wasp came out of it. Better I didn't photograph it, methinks.

Re: Summer Photos
It is fascinating how they dive into their roost and within a short space of time disappear completely.
I will upload some video footage when I have time.
