I'm more interested in our points record if I'm honest. Europe was great but I'd like someone else to have the distractions, especially with the late start and the Euros at the end of next season.

55 or more points would be brilliant. I'm still hoping we can finish 9th or higher too.

Watching SheffU/Everton, hoping for a 4-5 result. Another at pre-season pace. 0-0 currently.

Calvert Lewin is a dirty, sneaky niggly little so and so.
Finally been booked, and I should think so too.

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Sheff U lose. Handy result for our chances of finishing a bit higher. If they lose to Southampton on Sunday, even a draw for us and we'll finish ahead of them.
Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Could still finish 7th !!!
Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Can’t see Wolves losing but you never know. Sheff U have to go to Southampton on last day so we have s chance to go above them.

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Need Sheff Utd to fail to win on Sunday, Wolves to lose their last two (about to kick off v Palace), Arsenal to get no more than 3 points from their last two and of course us to beat Brighton in order to finish 7th.
Then for European qualification, Chelsea to beat Arsenal in the Cup final. Not too much to ask for....

Well that's Henderson out of the 'Golden Glove'. Just need Ederson to concede now. (Can't see it happening though, considering who they have to play yet.)

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
The Blades being blunted hasn't done us any harm, i can't see us catching Wolves, but 8th isn't out of reach. all we can do is net the 3 points against Brighton, and see what develops with the other teams.

Haydn Mullins and Graham Stack
Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
The way Arsenal have hit form, I cannot see them slipping up away at Villa and home to Watford but it is football

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
I’m sure this has been confirmed, but there’s no way 8th gets a Europa place is there? No European/FA cup win scenarios?

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Still can't see them scoring agaist City and I can't see Norwich scoring against them either.
I think Popey needs a clean sheet agaist BHA to have a chance of sharing the 'Gloves'.

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Neither can i, and they'll now be playing for cup final places, so there's extra motivation for them to impress. Sheff Utd could easily find themselves bumped down to 10th if their not careful.

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
Only Wolves or Arsenal can finish in 8th place and play in Europe next season - Arsenal by winning the FA Cup Wolves by winning the Europa League
it is possible for 8 English teams to play in Europe next year that also required Wolves to win the Europa League and miss out on the Automatic Europa placings either by finishing 7th and Arsenal winning the FA cup (assuming Arsenal finish below them) or 8th

Well Ingsy can do us a favour against Sheff U. Hat trick would be nice to get him up to leading scorer. (I think.)

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
7 places max. per country.
Outside of top 7 you have to win CL, EL or FA Cup, to displace 7th if you finish below them. Only Arsenal can currently do that.
Although Wolves could win EL and sneak back in if we were to overtake them.

We were always up against it after failing to beat the Blades and Wolves at home, but in fairness Wolves have been far better than us this season. We have had a good year, but not good enough for 7th.

Re: Tonight's footy 20/7/20
All the teams around us we've failed to beat at home. Drawn with all of Wolves, Spurs, Sheff Utd and Arsenal. That's where we've missed out and fallen short in terms of Europe. The Sheff Utd and Spurs ones a little disappointing because we'd normally back ourselves to see those games out.
It's really nitpicking though, it's been a fantastic season again.

As they say, the table never, ever lies and it looks like we'll be fairly close to them at the end of the season.
