If Wood goes to Lazio we should be straight in for Watkins at Brentford

There's no smoke without fire.

I wonder whether Wood has his agency eyeing up a move, or eyeing up improved terms after a fruitful season. His agency sell themselves of having a "Commitment to Honesty' -surely an oxymoron for a sports agency.

Quite few ifs involved, and if wood is off I think Watkins will already have been snapped up by his ex manager at villa

Why do some think this is so unlikely? What would make this a shock? He's proven himself at the top level of English football for three seasons in a row in a team that doesn't create a shedload of chances. Is he still underrated by some on here? Or is it just that Lazio is seen as being a step above him?

Weirder link here. Why would we take a loss on our leading scorer?

https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/fo ... on-2943798
Where do they get this sh!te from! why would any club sell a forward that’s just scored 14 premier league goals, for £13 million?

He leads the line better than any of our other forwards and given our style of play he would therefore be missed
However, if he did go abroad this could add some real kudos to BFC as a club to join for potential new signings looking for a pathway to bigger things

Admittedly it's only Youtube. From that he looks tenacious and has close ball control and no lack of ability.
Saw him on tv a couple of times at the end of last season & he caught my eye

BBC reporting we've enquired about the availability of Rhian Brewster. Liverpool say any loan is subject to appearances though. Would he be guaranteed games?

He scored for Swansea didn’t he in the 2nd leg play off at Brentford? Bizarrely the commentator referred to him as the hottest young prospect in Europe!

About nine or ten clubs linked. If it is a loan with guaranteed game time then he won't be joining us.

If as suggested in the article, he's a holding midfielder like Kante; then he'd be a welcome addition. We could do with someone like that imo.

If he’s as good as the article suggests, and plays as stated, he sounds like a great option, if we can beat his other suitors to his signature.

A good age to impact the first team and potentially turn a profit on, down the line as well.

Sadly Gibson has screwed us and his value has droppped accordingly

Imagine this Board tonight if WE were in for Gibson-hardly played in 2 years for his current club and perceived not to be a team player and a rebel who walked out of his club. Suspect it would be meltdown

We may have paid £15m ,, but suspect he is now valued @ £6m-£8m max

Paid nothing like £15m. As is the case with most deals, a lot is in add ons. None of the triggers have been met. If he’s screwed anyone it’s likely to be Middlesbrough.

Without knowing the details of Gibson's transfer, if some of that fee was based on appearances, then clearly we won't be liable for those payments, in which case all the better for us. And do we know if Boro included a sell on fee in the clause, they're fairly commonplace nowadays, especially for a upcoming youngster which Gibson was at the time, if they have then they might not get the return they were hoping for in any future sale.
