Seen a suggestion on Twitter that Robbie Brady might be going to Huddersfield on loan as part of a deal for Lewis O’Brien.
Would leave us very thin with regards to wingers. Need one as it is.

As much as I don't really see a lot of football this season coming for Brady, the idea should be to add to the squad at this point in my opinion, particularly as we have lost Lennon, Hendrick (who did play wide for us) and cannot rely on JBG these days for fitness.

I only really want to see Gibson gone now and then 3-4 in (preferably a winger, a central midfielder, a Gibson replacement and a right back).

Well if the guy comes in from Huddersfield, then we'd be losing one on loan and gaining one on a permanent.

We could then still go for a winger.

It's an untrustworthy source according to Huddersfield fans.

Loan or permanent makes sense to me. I've always liked Brady but it's been pretty clear that he now isn't the player we signed. We have to wheel and deal with players like Brady. Only a year left on his contract - what are the chances of us realistically giving him a new contract (a years contract extension was a no brainer but a new contract is a completely different matter)?

He's just a number right now filling out the squad but he's unlikely to figure and also unreliable given his recent injury record. Let's get players in who we can at least rely on to be available most weeks.

I've just gone looking. Certainly no source that I'd easily trust, but at the same time, it's hardly a headline breaker for someone to make up.
I can’t see it. Would have no cover for Dwight at a time he could be leaving imminently.

Agreed- perhaps we’re in for one though and that’s not broken yet... (Eliasson perhaps?)

Definitely. In Hendrick we had a player with an excellent fitness record who could fill in out wide. Quite risky having to rely on Brady and JBG

‘We fans’? I’m quite enjoying us winning games in the top flight.
That's because you go to watch us win no matter what as for us we like the team up the pitch passing the ball instead of wollopping it.

Thanks for all the support guys.

I understand that I'm not everyone's cup of tea in a world that leans towards very brief ( sometimes empty look at me statements ) and putting the boot in. It's good to know that not everyone objects to my contributions here and that a lot are happy to live and let live or simply scroll past my posts if they don't want to read them.

To my detractors it might be beneficial to click onto the user control panel link in the drop down menu next to your names. You can simply add me to your foes list and then you won't see any of my posts.

Unfortunately, I can't do anything about people quoting them in full instead of scrolling up and deleting a big chunk of them.

Brilliant response. From my point of view, I think your posts contain some excellent information that I've not seen elsewhere and I enjoy reading them. Please keep on contributing in your typical idiosyncratic style.

For some reason, there are a number of posters on here who take a real disliking to posts longer than a couple of sentences. One poster in particular I find to be quite a bully with constant references to football manage/ FIFA whenever you post. I can only imagine they feel threatened by the intelligence it takes to put together a detailed post like the ones you write.

Anyway, back to the topic.

Newcastle fans on twitter believe they are going to offer for Chris Wood.

Highly doubt it.

There’s nothing more tedious on here or social media than reading people’s views on who we should sign. It’s completely pointless.

That said, just skip over them. I do.

Not at all. There are many players show up that I’ve never heard of and others I wouldn’t have thought of. They are only opinions and it is Clarets related so keep them coming.

Each to their own, but “I think the club should sign x” isn’t really “transfer news”.

It'd be a hell of a lot more fun if we had a bottomless pot of money. I get your point. With our current finances. It's the hope that kills you. It's a bit like Bullseye for Burnley fans. 'Have a look at what you could have won'.

This, entirely. I've no interest at all in who people would like us to sign, especially when it's not players likely to be coming here or even available.

It's fine though of course if people do want to post and discuss their dream lists, but it shouldn't be in this thread

Yes. Because, when they do the league table at the end of the season to decide who gets relegated, those with the fewest points from wins (whether scabby or brilliant) and draws (whether scabby or not) get relegated. Currently, points are not awarded for the style of play nor removed because you were scabby when you won!

I really enjoyed the matches I've watched us play. Much prefer our style to the tedious passing it back and forth along the back that is the current fashion.

Which scabby wins would that be, the 3-0 against Southampton, the 2-0 against Norwich when we were in 2nd gear in both games, 3-0 against West Ham, 3-0 against Watford, or the 2-0 at OT, Oh! and the 3-0 against Bournemouth, and that's just from last season.

Yet along with city and Chelsea they were the only 3 teams who had a possession average of over 60% last season. Don't let the media fool you that Liverpool are a long ball team luvvie.

Teams in the championship would of beat all them teams on the form they were in. We could of played the kids as in under 16's v Norwich and still beat them. You know I'm right laddy.

This, entirely. I've no interest at all in who people would like us to sign, especially when it's not players likely to be coming here or even available.

It's fine though of course if people do want to post and discuss their dream lists, but it shouldn't be in this thread
If you removed the wish lists, bickering & "clickbait" non-links there wouldn't be anything in this thread :!:

Hi LTL, like KSR I might not always agree with your picks but I appreciate you making the effort to post the names of players you rate. I've stopped doing the same because of people telling me I know nothing, despite some of the players now commanding large fees a couple of years later. At the end of the day, it's only an opinion, if you want to check out the suggestions yourself-go do it! If not, then these posts are not aimed at you & don't merit an abusive comment.

If they want short, succinct posts devoid of any information then they should stick to Twitter.

Norwich had just beaten Man City when we played them.

Yet along with city and Chelsea they were the only 3 teams who had a possession average of over 60% last season. Don't let the media fool you that Liverpool are a long ball team luvvie.
********. Of course they are a long ball team. They pass it across the back repeatedly until they get their FBs in space. Robertson then carries it and TA-A crosses it. Don’t be Boris Johnson and try to kid a kidder with stats.

A transfer thread that has been more about slagging off a poster for writing too much and our “poor” brand of football. Genius!

This is a football message board and I for one value LTL’s posts. Read up on a few of the players he has touted and they certainly look decent talents. I’m not knowledgeable enough to know whether these lower league players will ever be able to step up but it’s always interesting to read his posts. If others like a character limit, suggest they either scroll down or head to twitter.

What a ridiculous post.
None of the championship teams could have won those those games because they are not in this league and for a good reason

I don't care how long they pass it at the back the fact is the balls on the floor and the fans don't have to strain their necks trying to find the ball in the air.
