Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Depends on your perspective, I suppose. I wanted to be organised as you have to be ready to do these things at certain times of year & I wanted to know I could do it before I bothered saving up. I know there’s plenty who get it with no intention of ever doing it themselves, but to demonstrate it’s possible to future buyers.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 10:46 pmThat is a bit odd I must say, if you don’t plan to start for a number of years. Make sure you keep your eye on the expiry date.
I haven’t heard anyone from the club say they have plans to develop the ground but happy to take your word for that. But unless they know exactly how they plan to develop it and the budget they have available then having designs drawn up would be a waste of time and money. If we got relegated this season for example, do you think our development plans would be the same? Will our budget now be the same as pre-COVID even?
Anyway, this thread is about transfers (like that was ever going to happen) so happy to leave it at that so it can get back on topic!
Just to provide a link on the topic, I think he discusses in this interview:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sEXSS-KYrGc
Will end by summarising that I think the club should have a 10 year vision for all its key infrastructure. Of course the delivery is dependent on changing priorities/circumstances and adapted to budgets accordingly. Equally we might sell a player and have cash to accelerate all or part of the vision.
Only 5 weeks to go & we might have some transfer activity to discuss & provide links on.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
No-one knows if we are in for a player because we stand at the back of the queue with our hand raised. That's why you won't see reports of our transfers besides the clickbait Boden comes up with.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Why do some people on here have such a weird thing for Boden?
From what I have seen he is the complete opposite of 'click bait' i.e. only reports on stuff which is usually already reported elsewhere then he backs it up.

Us older fans remember when we built a stand instead of a team
We dont need improvement to the ground the away fans could be accommodated at the lower JHu cricket field end. This would give us two home ends .
We give away fans a great view ,other teams tuck us out of the way at the sides.
A great ground is no good in the Championship, ask Reading and Derby fans which they'd prefer.

Woodley Claret, don't confuse "new ground" with "great ground". They are both terrible grounds in my view. Much preferred the Baseball and Elm Park.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 6:27 amUs older fans remember when we built a stand instead of a team

We do our businesses at this time when the window shuts on August 31st.
When it shuts in October, youd be better coming on mid September, and even then you'd be pushing it.

Burnley made their enquiries earlier in the window but Sanson's valuation was too steep for them and it is understood Sanson was not overly keen on the moveClaretAL wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:45 amMarseille's Morgan Sanson on radar of multiple Premier League clubs with Arsenal, West Ham, Wolves, Fulham and Burnley all interested in £25m midfielder ---- not a chance considering the price and competition but a link....

We can put several low ball bids in to appease folk, it's better to have tried and failed, than not tried at all.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:57 amSo apart from us not being able to afford him and him not wanting to come here...
I like that the club looks like it's doing the right things and giving things a try.
The last thing any of us want is to be the next Bolton

Its the same flow of stories each transfer window
The next story will be there are financial restraints and we can't afford the inflation being seen etc.
Not being negative but it's just a pattern of stories that appear to happen every time.

Brilliant watching people hang on every word Nixon says.
Burnley are chasing a couple.... he knows the bids, how they are constructed and that the other clubs aren't accepting...he must have forgot their names though.
Every club in the country is after a couple

I genuinely believe that this is possible.
I don't think the fee would be ridiculous.
£10m-15m?
Wages wouldn't be outrageous either I don't think.
It would be a great signing for everyone involved

A relative on my wife's side has just bought his London home
Would he seriously move his whole family out there if he was not happy

Can be as happy as he likes but if the club want to sell him then he'll likely be moving and if the move is to be back near his family then I'm sure he'd be fine with that.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Think he would command a sizeable fee, and depends on appetite of board for a player that has probably a declining sell-on value because of age. However we know he could play wide right too and would be a good source of precision crosses.
Leaves Brownhill/Cork/Westwood competing for two centre spots, which is the way it should be. If Lowton or Bardsley are having a poor run you then move him to RB-is there a better attacking RB and crosser of the ball (other than Trent Arnold)
Other positives-it resolves two positions, he is a no risk, injury free player,SD really likes him (and probably Board too), and he likes us and suspect he still likes the North West
THis would have a WOW factor to it

Not saying tripps will be returning but not sure you can say our board won't sign anyone with no sell on value after some of our signings in the last few years.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Would love to have Trippier back. More so than any other ex player including Ings. He’d be a no risk signing as you’d know exactly what you were getting and the manager knows him and his game.
