BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER/AUTUMN 2020 (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
The difference between success and failure is often winning by the odd goal and whether it is 1-0 or 11-10 the margin is 1 which may have been pinched. Failure is often the reverse, losing my a margin of 1 where it could be argued the opposition pinched a goal

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
And how many are just fillers for the U23s? 5?
Out first team squad hasn’t been improved for quite some time and is at the bare bones stage.
Minimum we need is 3-4 players capable of playing in the first team. It would be nice if they also were improvements on the players we already have.
Can’t see it though as our recruitment is not up to much.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
First priority for me is either get Gibson onboard or kick him overboard. Having that amount of money tied up for no return is terrible business.
Once he is sorted you can think about signing new players.

If I was a betting man, I'd be putting a bet on a signing by end of next week, we are at the advanced stages of a fee being agreed.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We get this thread every transfer window, and it turns into a popular discussion about our transfer activity, or lack of. Would people rather have a discussion thread or an arbitrary rule that every post has to contain a link? Because if you want the latter that's fine, but the thread will slip off the first page after 24 hours never to be seen again.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I think it is fine as it is, but if you are going to add a speculated transfer link to the discussion, I think you should qualify it with a link to where the speculation is published, or we would end up with people juts posting whatever enters their heads. Although some of sources the links come from you could argue they do the same

It is sad that CT has to come out and try to defend current transfer activity by "padding" out actual signings with a 3rd choice gk and four young kids for the u23's
Last night's Sky transfer summary could only mention Burnley having a current u23 defender refusing a new contract offer

And even sadder that you think that when I've already explained. The transfer list at the top of the board is transfers as confirmed by the Premier League and their total is currently showing at the five I've listed.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 8:55 amIt is sad that CT has to come out and try to defend current transfer activity by "padding" out actual signings with a 3rd choice gk and four young kids for the u23's

Matty cash thread, tells you all you needed to know right there, probably not need to read the first page
Least BurnleyPaul knows about how we operate regards transfers.... and they were some surprising people agreeing with him
I'll get something wrong someday I'm sure, until then it's a Macca was right again situation.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Obviously, my reasoning as to why we wouldn't sign him was due to the fee of 15m being touted.
Obviously BurnleyPaul knows far more about how our transfer dealings go, even CT says so.
Cant wait for Cash to become a claret.
Least then I'll be wrong, and we can put Paul firmly in the ITK circle with CT.

We didn't have enough in our bid in Cash - gone to Aston Villa for £16 million.
Let's move on to our next targets.

Nothing wrong with using a fax machine in communications re football transfers. Apparently, Messi sent a fax to Barca to communicate his desire to play for another team next season....

Hopefully he goes there, has a great season and sparks a bidding war next summer so we can at least get a decent fee back. Pretty sure he's still got 2 years left on his deal with us.clarethomer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 6:12 pmNixon saying that Gibson could be off to Norwich on Loan

whatever it is, if it leads to Gibson going and off our books in terms of finances, even partially I am all for it
Like so many things we see around this, when rumours start, people read, listen, think, maybe someone else will think, hang on a minute, I'm sure he will help improve us, if they are talking it's a step in the right direction.

By quite some time, just how long do you mean? The last transfer window (when we signed Brownhill)? Or the one before that (when we signed Rodriguez and Pieters)?Right_winger wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 1:14 amOut first team squad hasn’t been improved for quite some time and is at the bare bones stage.
Just what do you realistically expect the club to do? That 'not up to much' which has brought us 5 successive seasons in the top flight? Or the 'not up to much' that saw us qualify for Europe 2 seasons ago and our second top 10 finish in 3 seasons?Right_winger wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 1:14 amCan’t see it though as our recruitment is not up to much.
I'm sure there are at least 72 clubs who wish their recruitment was as 'not up to much' as ours!

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I expect the club to replace key squad players such as Hart Lennon Hendrick and not go into a season with 3 wingers 1 of which many claim isn't a winger and another who made his career at LB.bfcmik wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 6:38 pmBy quite some time, just how long do you mean? With a month of the transfer window left, why do you find that surprising? Burnley rarely buy early for reasons explained by Sean, so why should this window be any different?

No, Nixon is saying the deal is a loan. They pay 70% of his wages, and a 2 million loan fee.

Not bothered about losing Cash to Villa (not a priority position for us, this year), but gutted about this:

We should have been all over this - good RW option, great crosser & very cheap.

I don’t think this is a good deal for us in that he then only has one year left on his contract so his value will hugely depreciate. Better selling now.
Although if it’s a sweetener to get Buendia here it’s a bloody great deal! Hope they’ve at least enquired.

At this rate there will be some good Villa players forced out of the first team, and there may be some good players available. Their overall squad must be huge

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We can only sell if there's a willing buyer, that appears not to be the case, so this deal is the best case scenario for us, it gets Gibson out of the door, and Norwich cover most of his salary, and if they come back up there's a good chance they'll sign him permanently, and we'll at least recoup some of our outgoings, and even if they don't make a PL return, if Gibson impresses and puts himself in the shop window, then suitors might appear in the summer.NewClaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 03, 2020 9:48 pmI don’t think this is a good deal for us in that he then only has one year left on his contract so his value will hugely depreciate. I'd love us to get Buendia or even Hernandez as part of any deal, but I can't see that happening sadly.

Was hoping Eliason would be on our radar during this window and now (contract wise) would seem like the time to make our move
Villa seem to be linked with many of our potential targets - hoping positive feedback from Josh Brownhill would be a big factor as the two were linked as moving here as a pair in the January window

Dont shoot the messenger but Vital Football-Norwich City, are saying the Gibson move to Norwich is a done deal. Its a loan, we pay 70% of his wages, theres a loan fee of £2m , and Norwich buy him in 12 months. As I say not confirmed yet

If he is still our player next season then apart from paying 30% of his wages we will have some payment to make to Boro and here's guessing it is at least 2 million
